    Xbox One Power Brick


    Hi all,

    I bought a brand new Xbox One from eBay (yeah, yeah I know, but the full retail price is crazy), the downside being no power supply or controller. No worries I thought, I can get both fairly easily. Oh how wrong I was. The controller was no issue at all of
    course, but the power supply is proving to be the biggest pain in the backside I've ever experienced with a single piece of hardware. Not only are there literally no official power bricks on the net anywhere, but Microsoft appear to have no idea whether they
    are selling them either.

    To cut a long story short, after I explained everything to online support, they told me I could buy one for £25, and then gave me a number to call. I proceed to call said number, and what do they say? No, we don't sell those. Uh, what? So the website claims
    that they do, backed up by online support, but at the same time they don't. Only Microsoft could mess you around like that.

    Now, I have a cheap Chinese knock-off, but it's rubbish in the extreme, and very, very noisy. Ideally I'd prefer an official adapter, so I was wondering if anyone here has had similar problems, and perhaps had more luck than me?

    Can I use an Xbox 360 slim power brick on an Xbox One

    So I have not upgraded to an Xbox One yet, but I found one on Ebay for 218 dollars. The reason it is so cheap is because it comes without a controller and the power brick. I can buy a controller no problem, but that leaves the power brick. From what I have seen online, the power brick for the Xbox One has similar jacks to the one on my Xbox 360 slim. I checked online to see if the power brick would work with the One, but I found no information on it. Do any of you happen to know if it works?

    If it's an Xbox One S or X you should be okay if it's one of the original Xbox One consoles that has the power brick then you will need to obtain a new power brick.

    Turn off your Xbox One Via the power button on the console hold it for 10 seconds.

    Once the indicator lights on the front of the Xbox One and the console's power brick are off, unplug the power brick from the back of your console.

    Wait at least 30 seconds.

    Plug the power brick back into your Xbox One and turn it on

    Xbox wont turn on. New power brick died in less than a week.

    Power bricks for the Xbox One are no longer manufactured by Microsoft, so you probably have a 3rd party manufactured one. These are not supported by Microsoft and as such, can have problems. The only way to find out if it is the console or power brick,
    is to try another power brick.

    If it is an Xbox One S or X then it should work as these support multi voltages. If it is the original Xbox One that has a separate power brick then you will purchase a replacement power brick.
