    Xbox One Power Brick RMA


    My Xbox One power brick started warbling and chirping back in late March. Sounded like the something in the fan assembly went loose, and the fan was spinning at odd angles. Submitted the SR on March 29, shipped to the Laredo, TX address via UPS the same
    day (copy of the SR in the box, SR# written on box exterior). The part was physically received on April 4, and the RMA has been stuck in 'In Progress' ever since.

    I chatted with a Live Support agent on Sunday, April 13 after perhaps incorrectly assuming a power supply replacement would be a relatively quick-turn event. He said the replacement info he was seeing noted that it would ship no later than Tuesday, April
    15.

    Today's the 17th, no movement on the SR (1240690244). Chatted again with Live Support; they stated they didn't have any insights into the SR status beyond what I see on my side, and said it would be escalated to an Advocacy team, saying it
    may be a week before I hear from them. She couldn't explain why the previous live agent had insights (real or imagined) into my SR.

    Can someone from Xbox Support look into this? While I'd really just like to get my console back up and running, I'd even more like for this to not devolve into one of 'those' customer experiences.

    Can I use an Xbox 360 slim power brick on an Xbox One

    So I have not upgraded to an Xbox One yet, but I found one on Ebay for 218 dollars. The reason it is so cheap is because it comes without a controller and the power brick. I can buy a controller no problem, but that leaves the power brick. From what I have seen online, the power brick for the Xbox One has similar jacks to the one on my Xbox 360 slim. I checked online to see if the power brick would work with the One, but I found no information on it. Do any of you happen to know if it works?

  5. don't expect the advocay team to get back to you in a week, they told me 3-4 days and it took 3.5 weeks to hear a single word

    An Advocacy team person reached out last week suggesting their service facility was backed up, but they should be repairing the power supply shortly. They contacted me again today to tell me that, oops, actually, their service facility says they never got
    it. UPS tracking results on my shipment reflects otherwise, complete with a signature of their receiving personnel. This is fun.

    You could try calling the Tier 2 Support Team (otherwise known as Xbox Escalated Support.) Since the advocacy team seems to have a couple of different answers, you might have better luck calling the next level (I've read good things about the level of knowledge
    this number has, and the ability for their agents to help!)

    The number is 866-506-3826. Their hours are 6AM - 4PM PST (so, 8-6 Central, 9-7 Eastern.) You will need your original Tier 1 Support reference number, which you receive when you make your first call. You will have to enter that number in order to actually
    "get through." Also, make sure to respond with the correct responses to the computer menu before it transfers you to your agent, because incorrect responses or saying "Operator" do not necessarily skip you to the operator, it more often than not just disconnects
    you if it doesn't recognize the command.

    A couple of hoops to jump through, but worth it to get closer to getting the answers you need!
