    Xbox one power brick noise


    So I have my console on Instant on mode. The console itself is pretty much silent but when I power down the console from instant on mode I can hear an audible fan noise/buzzing noise coming from the power supply unit.

    It's about slightly louder than this: and when there room is silent it is very noticeable. I understand switching to energy saving mode solves this problem but I want to keep the X1 in instant on mode. Is this normal for the power brick?

    This is the page that ChunkyDeMonkey was talking about, fan noise from the power brick is normal if you have your XBOX set to Instant-On, it uses power to keep Kinect listening. You'll only notice the noise after turning off your XBOX after use (high power
    usage). When it uses less power (Kinect listening only) it takes less to cool the power brick therefore less noise.

    How loud is your power brick?

    Hello "Jue FG" Xbox one power brick noise :)

    Is sounds like the power brick of your Xbox One is defective because I've never heard any noise come out from my Xbox 360 power brick and Xbox One power brick.

    Your console is still under the store warranty, just go back and swap it out for another one Xbox one power brick noise :)

    Clicking noise?

    I have my Xbox One on Standby but I don't hear the clicking noise. I can only hear a high pitched fan noise coming form the power brick.

    All Xbox 360 power bricks have fans. They vary in the noise made. I would expect the Xbox One power bricks to be the same. I've had noisy fans in 360 power bricks and I've had silent fans. Luck of the draw.

    If it's really annoying, I would pack the whole thing up and exchange it at your retailer for another unit.

    The reason your Power Brick is making a humming noise, is because inside of the power brick. Is a little fan, this fan keeps your Power Brick at the correct temperature. If your power brick gets hot, the fans RPM will increase and it will make a humming
    sound because your XBOX Power Brick Fan is cooling down your Power Brick. Nothing to worry about unless it's a roaring sound.
