Xbox One power brick light turns off when plugged into console

Hi there. Recently the power brick on my Xbox One has not been turning on. when I plug it into the power strip, the orange light turns on. However, as soon as I plug it into the console the light on the power brick turns off, and the console does not turn
on at all.

I've read through the forums really quickly, so I'm not sure if this is a power brick issue 100% or is it also a possible console issue.

I've been through the Device Repair steps, and it's telling me that I need to get the Power Brick replaced. While I'm willing to do that, if it turns out that it's the console that's faulty, does anyone know if I'll be able to send the power brick back for
a refund?

Water damage

I spilled water on my Xbox and it got in the heatsink and in the power port on the back. The power brick when plugged in turns on its orange light but when I plug it into the Xbox the power brick shuts off. Does anyone know if this is a power brick problem
or a problem with the console itself?

Xbox one power brick problem?

my Xbox one power brick is orange and my Xbox won't turn on. Once I plug it into my Xbox the orange light turns off. I've unplugged it and plugged it in a bunch of times. I did hear a snap when my Xbox shut off is it my power brick or the Xbox itself? Please
help

Hey there!

Most times with the issue you described it is the Power Supply Unit that is faulty. The best test for this is to try the console on a different one that perhaps a friend or family members has. If that is not possible a lot of game stores (GameStop, Best
Buy etc....) will allow you to bring in your console to test on a different power supply unit to see if that works. If you do determine that it is the Power Supply Unit then they can also hook you up with a possible replacement as well. It is just best to
test it first before purchasing a new one if possible. Will save you some time and headaches if it turns out it is the console, on that off chance.

Turn off your Xbox One Via the power button on the console hold it for 10 seconds.

Once the indicator lights on the front of the Xbox One and the console's power brick are off, unplug the power brick from the back of your console.

Wait at least 30 seconds.

Plug the power brick back into your Xbox One and turn it on

You may need to clear the cache. Try these steps.

Turn off your Xbox One.
Once the indicator lights on the front of the Xbox One and the console's power brick are off, unplug the power brick from the back of your console.
Wait at least 30 seconds.
Plug the power brick back into your Xbox One and turn it on.

Try hard restarting your xbox one and try again

To hard restart:

Turn off your Xbox One Via the power button on the console hold it for 10 seconds.

Once the indicator lights on the front of the Xbox One and the console's power brick are off, unplug the power brick from the back of your console.

Wait at least 30 seconds.

Plug the power brick back into your Xbox One and turn it on

Hi

The power brick for the Xbox One console never fully turns off if your console is set to instant on mode the light on the power brick will remain white with the console switched off and if the console is set to power save mode the light will be orange/yellow
when the console is switched off.

Do you have an original Xbox One, an S or an X? If you have an Xbox One original console try the following steps to reset your power supply:

Unplug the power brick from the wall and from the console
Wait no less than 10 seconds (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi....)
Plug the brick back in to the power outlet but not the console itself just yet.
If the LED indicator light on the power brick has a solid light, try plugging the brick back into the console without turning on your system just yet. If the light is flashing or off at this point then the power brick would need to be replaced.
Microsoft does cover this if it is within your consoles warranty. However, if the light is still solid after plugging the console back in then try turning on your Xbox.
