Xbox one power brick issues?

This is a problem I have been noticing for the past few weeks. Every time my xbox one is off for an extended period of time, the power brick will go orange. When I try to turn it on, I hear a faint power noise but it does not actually turn on. However,
when I unplug the external hard drive, the light on the brick will go back to white, and everything runs normally again. Are there any reasons for this, as I don't want to have to keep unplugging and plugging back in my hard drive in order for the xbox to
turn on?

do you have any family or friends that has an xbox one with a power brick that you could try? to see of its the console or the power brick that could be causing the issue?

Maybe your brick is not powerful enough to run your external drive?. I am not sure about how much a power brick can run though.

When i had a power brick issue i had to purchase a new one and my issue was resolved.

I’ve had the same problem and I just ended up buying a new one. They’re about $45.

Have similar issue but mine also turns off on its own as well. Found out that it was a faulty power brick and had to buy a new one since my unit was out of warranty. Try resetting your power brick by unplugging the brick from the wall with your Xbox turned
off (the light on brick should now be orange). Press the power button on your Xbox and this will cause the light on the brick to turn off. This process just drained the power from the brick. Plug the brick back into the outlet and turn on your Xbox. Hope this
helps. Seems like a recall they aren't doing anything about since multiple people has this issue even new systems fresh out of the box...

So I had this issue with my original xbox one too but before I paid to get it fixed I borrowed my brother power brick to see if it would work and it did.Check to see if it's not the power brick.
