  1. Xbox One - Potential privacy issues on network?

    Was watching Netflix when it suddenly closed and Xbox Video started. What came up was a video stream of photos that I had never seen before. Closing the Video app only lead to it reopening itself again and continuing the stream. Smart glass settings were
    set to profiles only signed in on my Xbox, none of my devices that are registered were connected. My Xbox is wired to the network and the network is a shared one, because I am at University. This has never happened to me before, and was quite frankly very
    disturbing. Anyone experienced this? Or can anyone help with this mishap?

    :)

    I'm also very interested to know what happened with this one. The only thing I can think of is that SmartGlass was being used here. Somehow.

    My understanding of this is that the Xbox One can only accept content if it is pushed to it via the SmartGlass app or if you're accessing the app manually.

    Aside from recommending that you turn your SmartGlass Connection settings off for the time being, I'm not sure what else could be suggested here?

    Would this potentially be a security issue with SmartGlass over riding the "Only accept SmartGlass connection requests from profiles on this Xbox" setting and defaulting to accept any and all SmartGlass connections on the network?

    Your media sharing was likely on, I wouldnt trust MS I mean the system was largely created to spy on its users.

    Might try disabling "allow Play To streaming" under preferences, but then you won't be able to stream to the X1 from your computer.

    @Thanatos

    Ye, Microsoft spent billions of dollars just so they could spy and you, I mean they done already have access to most people's emails, video conferencing, phone calls, text messages etc

    Seriously dude, if a government/company wants too keep tabs on you, it ain't difficult, and they don't need to spend billions fabricating a games console to spy on you.
