  1. Xbox One Port settings

I don't own Wi-Fi at the moment, but I have a hotspot app that allows me to use Wi-Fi on for example my laptop. but When I try to connect my Xbox to this network, I get multiple errors when I try fixing these errors I only get more

and I believe it is due to the fact I need a custom Port. that being 8282 How can I change my port settings to that? Cause when I go to Network Settings- Advanced Settings- Alternate port selection- Manual. I can only choose from pre-determined ports

    3074

    49390

    50808

    53328

    54746

    56164

How do I input my own custom port to 8282?

    :)

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this QUINCYCROWDER

Are you sharing mobile data via Wi-Fi hotspot?
Or how are you sharing internet connection directly from your laptop? (And also, what’s the source, I mean. A public Wi-Fi network, a mobile carrier, etc)

    Xbox One Port settings

    Hi, thank you
I ask this because it’s very hard (to not say impossible) open ports for a mobile phone / carrier
Because there is no router to access directly

And some carriers blocks certain ports by default

Open NAT types for two Xboxes?

Also check the following if you both have Xbox One consoles (the 360 doesn't have such a setting):

In the Xbox One's network settings, you can have the console use an alternative port for Xbox Live. By default, the Xbox uses port 3074 for Xbox Live connections, and if two consoles use the same port, the router doesn't know to which console it should send
Xbox data coming in on Port 3074.

So set one console to a different alternative Xbox Live Port.

If your router properly support UPnP, then make sure you removed the manually forwarded ports for Xbox, and let the consoles tell the router which ports to forward to where.

If the router does not support UPnP, have both consoles use (a different) static IP address, and then set up manual port forwarding for each console's IP and different custom ports you set in the console's network settings.

If you have a 360 and a Xbox One, make sure the Xbox One uses a custom port different than 3074

What ports do I need to have opened from my Spectrum Internet provider?

The default port on my Xbox One S is 3074. In xbox settings, network settings, advanced you can manully change ports in alternate port selection. They are 52456, 52686, 52916, 53416, and 53376.

I would start with the default port, or automatic selected port, set it on your Spectrum first, and try each one, one at a time. If one doesnt work, I would personally just to not have an open port, close the ones that do not work, and only use the one that does.
