    Xbox One port list

    I'm trying to troubleshoot my broken xbox one to find out why It doesn't work before I return it. I want to remove UPnP from my router and manually forward the necessary ports. However the official list can not be correct:

    • Port 88 (UDP)
    • Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 80 (TCP)
    • Port 500 (UDP)
    • Port 3544 (UDP)
    • Port 4500 (UDP)
    The problem: 53 is DNS server! 80 is web/HTML,
    88 is Kerberos Auth, 500 IKE key exchange port!

    All of these ports are for real world things not an xbox. It is not possible to have them opened when I have a domain server, webserver and real firewall on my network.

    So the question is what ports are really required?

    :)

    That's the only ports I have ever used or seen listed , some games claim to need additional ports , but that's the list that has been used by everyone for years...

    Right, but I meant which are really needed to be port forwarded? 80 can not be forwarded, 53 and 500 shouldn't be from a security standpoint. None of these were UPnP ing before. Port forwarding is for initiating new incoming connections only. NAT will maintain
    the state and allow communications on those ports without a forward.

    I think this list is ports used by the xbox not ports that need to be forwarded.

    From my Black Ops 3 Game Menu, it says that my NAT Type is moderate. To the right of it, they explain that the game tried to use UDP port 3075 to open the required port fo OPEN NAT in-game. I'm not too internet savvy. Can anyone do something with this to
    find out if 3075 is the port neccessary for us all to gain the open NAT Type?

    Even though you're hijacking my thread here is the information you asked for:

    Microsoft defined three categories of NAT: open, moderate, and strict. Devices that perform strict or moderate NAT can limit the ability of gamers to find each other, participate in multiplayer sessions, or hear each other on Xbox Live.

    What does each NAT type mean?

    The classification system boils down to something called a port-assignment policy.

    Open NAT means that either the port-assignment policy is minimal or the device has a fully compliant version of UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) enabled by default.

    Moderate NAT means that the port-assignment policy is minimal, but the device is filtering addresses or ports.

    Strict NAT means the port-assignment policy is aggressive.

    How to make router/firewall to be open kind?

    To make the firewall/router from strict to open, actually Microsoft′s devices looking for three UDP ports to be properly routed. If you can add following ports to the NAT rules on the router, it will be considered open:

    UDP port 5060;

    UDP port 5061;

    UDP port 3074;

    I'm not sure why yours is looking at 3075 and not 3074. Do you have more than one xbox360/xbox one on that network?

    Blacks ops 3 will try and use 3075 if it can , that's why the error on the right , add it to the list for that game , along with the others...

    It's also important to know how Network Address Translation (NAT) works. You establish a connection to a server on the internet. In reality you send packets to your router, going out from your computer on some randomly chosen port:

    Your router, in turn, establishes a connection to the server you want to talk to. It talks out it's own randomly chosen port:

    When google's webserver sends you back information, it is actually sending it back to your router (since your router is the guy actually on the internet):

    A packet arrives at your router, on port 21283 from www.google.com. What should the router do with it?

    In this case the router has kept a record of you, and the traffic it sent to
    www.google.com:80 from port 21283 on your behalf. So the router will relay the packet to your computer:

    Open NAT
    In open NAT, any machine on the internet can send traffic to your router's port
    21283, and the packet will be sent back to you:

    Closed NAT
    Closed nat is more restrictive. It won't allow anything in unless it came from the original address
    and port that you wanted to talk to, i.e.
    Moderate NAT
    Moderate NAT is a mixture, where your router will accept any traffic from any
    port
    , but only from the same host:
