Xbox One Port Forwarding Halo 5 Guardians

I'm configuring my new router (GT AC5300) and finished forwarding the recommended ports per portforward.com. When checking the network settings on the Xbox One, right below the Wireless MAC address, Port 52108 is listed. Shouldn't this port be included in
my router's settings? If so, is it TCP, UDB, both, or...?

How should I setup Port forwarding, so that Halo 5 runs best?

Note Some game developers require you to open additional ports. You should always check the game developer's website to see if the game you're playing needs additional ports to work.
We've gathered some ports you might need and have added them to the AdditionalNetwork Ports for Multiplayer Gaming forum.

 

I included all of the ports listed on the page of the link you provided. My question has to do specifically with the port that is listed in the network settings of the Xbox One when it is connected to my network. This is a unique port that is not mentioned
in any reference. Perhaps if you were to check your Xbox One's network settings you would see exactly what I am referring to.













By the way, the second link you provided - AdditionalNetwork Ports for Multiplayer Gaming - goes to a general Xbox forum and does not list any information related to port forwarding an Xbox One, e.g., How To Access In-Game Items in Assassin's Creed
Odyssey or Xbox Forum Guidelines or Inside Xbox Forza Horizon 4 MixPot Support Status,. These topics have absolutely nothing to do with my question. Including am link such as
Google would have probably been a little more helpful.

Thanks for reaching out to us! For the port 52180 is that port in the Alternate Port Selection? We are aware that each console does have their own set of ports to test out before trying the full ports on our site. If you have a firewall or network hardware,
such as a router, you might need to make a configuration change in order for your Xbox One console to communicate with Xbox Live. This configuration change is sometimes called "opening
ports" or "port forwarding".

These ports must be open for Xbox Live to work:

• Port 88 (UDP)
• Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
• Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
• Port 80 (TCP)
• Port 500 (UDP)
• Port 3544 (UDP)
• Port 4500 (UDP)

When making the changes in the alternate port selection section: Click the Xbox Button
(don't hold it) > System > Settings > Network > Network Settings > Advance Settings > Alternate Port Selection > Manual > select a port then continue. Test the multiplayer connection
(and save the port in the router).

Thanks for replying and yes, I am asking about the alternate port, which on my counsel is 52180. I have already forwarded and tested the ports you listed. My question, essentially, is: Wouldn't I need to do the same with the Xbox's alternate port, 52180?

Thanks for the reply. Do the same for Port 52180, and while you are at it, you could also open the ports for individual games you play. For Example,

EA titles have their own ports that improve connection to their servers.

Set it to "both".

Be aware however: The ASUS ROG GT AC-5300 supports UPnP, which means, the Xbox console can tell the device directly to forward the necessary ports automatically.

You shouldn't need to forward ports manually.

Thank you for answering my question. As for port forwarding using a GT AC5300. I have not yet compared the difference between port forwarding against the default setting of this router, but I did so with the Netgear Nighthawk R9700 (which is a useless waste
of money spent on what will turn out to be an expensive doorstop) and the differences in are significant. I plan on testing the Asus router once I have it configured.

I started testing this morning, but had to stop. To get the most accurate results, I need to perform testing when they are no other users/devices connected to the router. So, I will post the results here next weekend (10/27).
