    Xbox One - Popping and Crackling?


    I just picked up a 1TB Xbox One and I'm loving it so far. One problem I've been having though is with sound. I'm getting brief pops and crackles during gameplay and on the dashboard. Especially during dialogue (games) and moving between boxes (dashboard).

    My setup consists of only an HDTV connected to the Xbox One via HDMI. I picked up an Xbox One stereo headset that I've been using as well, and I've noticed the same pops and crackles when using the headset.
    I've performed the hard reset a couple of times when I was trying to fix a network problem. The issue has persisted throughout. I'm looking for any help that can be given, as it is a bit annoying. It doesn't seem to happen in every game, but I've noticed
    it in Mortal Kombat X, Sunset Overdrive and Elder Scrolls Online mostly. That and the dashboard of course.
    This seems as though it has been a common problem for many, and I'm hoping it isn't an issue with the Xbox itself. Any thoughts?

    Xbox One Popping Audio

    I get the same thing through my turtle beach headset, and as with you it seems it only happens when downloading and installing games. It also happens on destiny a bit but I'm guessing because that game is completely online. So the sound would be affected
    by that maybe.

    Maybe I should also mention that I've had the console for a week today. I've had some time to work with the console and can't seem to find a good solution. Help!

    One more thing - audio is set to "Stereo Uncompressed"

    I have the same issue with my 1TB console and stereo headset. However it does not happen very often and is usually caused by other electrical appliances. I noticed when switching on the jug or the iron to have a brief click/pop through my speakers/headset.
    Some fluorescent lights make this happen also.

    I am running my console through HDMI to my monitor and Optical to my Sound System.

    I would wait until the Windows 10 update to see if it's a software bug. But if it's like mine and seems to be cause by other appliances the only way to best it is to put a power conditioner on it (UPS).

    Hey there I just wanted to say that I also have the new 1tb edition and also have this issue although I noticed that for me it only occurs when installing games or apps.

    Sometimes I have to wonder...

    I'm also hoping that the Crackle APP will change to Crackle Pop, so I can keep saying,

    DTS reverting back to Uncompressed 7.1

    I actually have to turn HDMI audio OFF completely and use stereo uncompressed under digital optical just to get my 5.1 surround sound to not "pop/crackle" when navigating menus/playing games. That "pop/crackling" was driving me nuts the system doesnt "pop/crackle"
    when set to just TV but nor does my surround system "pop/crackle" when connected to my TV/Xbox 360. Never done that before...did MS cheap out on the audio system for their "all in one" media box or is this an isolated incident with my 2008 phillips surround
    I wonder.
