Xbox One Play and Charge Kit

Hello, I'm having issues with my rechargeable battery pack. I just got it for Christmas but it doesn't charge. I have to take it out for a couple minutes, put it back in and plug it in to charge and it says it is charged. I don't know how to register it
for the warranty to get a new one because when I type in the S/N on the box into here, the number is to long. I really need some help and would like to get this replaced. I got it so I wouldn't have to use batteries, now I don'y have a choice.

Please try and carry out a controller firmware update first and hopefully this will help with your issue.

 

There is no update needed for it. It says its up to date.

 

with rechargeable batteries it is important to condition them. You should always run a rechargeable battery totally dead when you first get it and then fully charge it right after. A lot of people assume a rechargeable battery is dead from the factory
and then charge it immediately out of the box. This will absolutely kill the life cycle of a battery. From the sounds of it i'd say you need to start over with yours.

 

Before trying to replace it. More than likely, it's the cable. The Xbox one brand cable is terrible and stops working after normal use.

Try this test.

Lay the controller down and plug in the cable. Move the cable very slowly until the orange light stays on. That means it's charging. If there isn't a orange light, then the cord has gone bad.

Orange to white means it's fully charged

Buy another cable first on EBay or something for $2 (non Xbox brand tho)

 

Don't follow Zombie Cartman's bad advice, it's completely wrong. The battery in the play and charge kit is lithium, if you try and 'condition' it as Zombie says you could end up killing it.

Lithium batteries like to be charged little and often, just topping up. If you're not using it and putting the battery into storage for a while then it wants about a 70% charge.

 

It's just doing the same thing. The light is white but I unplug it and it days the batteries are low. I don't know what to do anymore.

 

NewBlackSmurf, That is what I have to do to get mine to charge. No matter what cable I use I have to set it down, play with it, and then leave it alone until it is charged.

Now my elite is doing the same thing.
