    Xbox One Play and Charge Kit won't charge on PC


    I got an official wireless Shock Blue Xbox controller and an official Xbox play and charge battery kit for use on PC (Windows 10).

    The controller works with standard AA batteries and works when plugged into the PC with the USB-C cable. However the rechargeable battery is not charging. It doesn't charge using any of the PC USB ports or using a USB charging hub
    or USB plug.

    The USB-C cable has no LED light to tell me if it is charging or not. I have the Xbox accessories app on the PC and I've updated the controller software, the battery is still not charging.

    In my bluetooth settings it tells me the Xbox controller battery is 100% which it clearly isn't and it says 100% regardless of what batteries are in the controller and their level of charge. Clearly this info is wrong.

    When the controller is plugged into the PC the Xbox accessories app tells me the battery status is 'plugged in' (really helpful). Pressing the Xbox home button launches the Xbox game bar, this tells me the battery charge is critical
    and has been that way since I got the Xbox play and charge battery kit.

    So the rechargeable battery is not rechargeable and I either need to keep it plugged in or use disposable AA batteries.

    The whole point of a wireless controller is that I shouldn't need a wire to use it. The whole point of a rechargeable battery is to negate the cost and environmental impact of using dozens of AA disposable batteries.

    So can anyone suggest what to do next...this was a gift so I'm not sure how to get the proof of purchase info to return the battery. Is there a fix for this?

    Quick charge kit, right in front of me as my 360 and my PC shares one monitor. Had 2 play n' charge kits and returned both of them because it's not charging for some reason.

    If you do get the play and charge kit, it's like both having a wired and wireless controller at the same time. Anyways, playing on FPS on either one won't affect anything, so it's best to get the play and charge kit.
