Xbox One physical copy vs online xbox series S

Hello, I recently got the series S and am wondering if there's a way on the Microsoft end to "verify" somehow that I own a physical RDR 2 copy for the xbox One, maybe with a serial number so that I can redownloaded it for the series S?

Or is it effectively forcing me to purchase the same game twice?

And in the same vein, how would I transfer save files between the two?

You would have to purchase the game digitally in order to be able to play it on the Series S.

Game saves are stored on the cloud and will resync when you start the game on the Series S.

The Series X is physically larger than the Series S and has a disc drive where the Series S does not. The X will be more powerful and run games in true 4K.

All the physical copies for the gaming console designed for (or if is compatible with the Backwards Compatibility program) works without issues even if the digital version has been delisted.

Please take note that some games also remove / discontinue online based content from the titles when they have reached their end-life cycle.

But further down your question, if you have a physical copy of Deadpool for Xbox One you will be able to play the game on an Xbox One or an Xbox Series X|S Console.

Yes, Xbox One game discs should work on the Xbox Series X consoles, as they are backwards compatible. So if you buy the physical copy of Hogwarts Legacy on the Xbox One, you should be able to play it on the Xbox Series X consoles, However If you don't have a Digital Copy or Disk Reader technology that reads disks and install them on you're Console it'll will not work on Series S as it's all Digital.
