    Xbox One permanent black screen

So from everything I've looked at online is that the black screen is supposed to be a "temporary" problem and the way to fix it is to reboot the system. I've done this numerous times and also have unplugged it. I've left it on for at least an hour and all
it does is go from the opening green screen and then stays black after that. I've also heard other people can at least hear sound from moving around on the home screen but I hear absolutely nothing. There's no issues with the outlets or anything because my
360 works totally fine. I have no idea what to do at this point because the thing that everyone says fixes it does nothing. Any help is appreciated.

    :)

  2. Black screen issue

So yesterday I was playing Shadow of Mordor no problem. I turn the console off and come back a couple of hours later to play Alien: Isolation. Only problem is, the console gets a permanent black screen.

Start up, xbox logo screen, then a permanent black screen. I've tried hard resetting several times to no avail. I've also completely unplugged the console several times. Nothing seems to work. Any help?

Mass Effect 3 forcing Factory Reset

came frequently crashes, bricking my xbox. Ithe will freeze beyond repair forcing me to power off the console. Upon powering on... black screen or permanent xbox one load screen. So I do a cache clear... permanent green screen. My only option is to USB factory
reset, clearing everything. When it does finally reboot I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it... it eventually freezes again. Wash. Rense. Repeat.

Sucks because I really want to finish mass effect 3.

Hi, assuming the Xbox was working fine before there could be several things to try.

    .

    Try another HMDI cable

    .

Try switching ends on the cable so the end that's in the console is in the TV and vice versa.

    .

Check that you don't have the HMDI cable in the HDMI input socket on the xbox, I have seen that happen before now.

    .

Try another HDMI port on the TV if possible.

    .

Try the Xbox on another TV.

    .

Press and hold the Xbox button on the xbox for 10 seconds, the xbox will power of, then power on again using the xbox button on the xbox not the controller.

    .

Power the xbox off, then press and hold both the eject and xbox button on the xbox until you hear a beep, this one can be a little tricky to get just right so try that a few times.

    .

If you're only just settings up the Xbox One for the first time then you may well need to try the offline system diagnostic tool.

    support.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool

    .

You would need to use the OSUDT1 if you're doing the setup using a brand new Xbox.

    .

Good luck and if you still have no joy by all means post back and I'm sure someone can provide a solution.

I've had the xbox since day one and it was working fine for the most part until the other day, never had an issue like this. Still using the same tv and everything I've had since I got it. I've tried different hdmi ports and reversing the cable. I also did
the power on while holding the eject button, nothing was different except it lowered the resolution on the green screen. The fact that the green screen shows up makes me think it has to be an issue with the xbox itself and not any hdmi issues. Nothing would
show up at all I would think if it was something wrong with the cable. It's just after the green screen it just goes blank.

    Thanks for responding.

    .

Try pressing and holding the xbox button for 10 seconds again, then when the xbox powers off take the power cable out of the xbox, press the xbox button on the console several times, reconnect the power cable and power on using the xbox button on the xbox.

    .

Do you recall if this issue started after a system update ?

No problem, thanks for helping. I tried what you said, still doing the same thing. It started about 2 days ago. I'm not totally sure if it was an update or not. What happened was I turned my xbox on and it was extremely buggy on the home screen. It kept
not scrolling through anything for minutes at a time and then it would just scroll through everything all at once really fast. when I tried to open apps like Netflix I was getting error codes. I restarted the system to see if it'd help any and then this started
    happening.
