  1. Xbox One PC Controller - AA batteries draining too quickly?

    Hello,

As above, I've been using my controller for a while with no issue, but I dropped it a couple weeks back (slid off my couch and hit the hardwood, about a 1-1.5 foot drop at most), and while everything still works on the controller, I've noticed since then
that batteries are starting to drain way too quickly. It starts at full, and then anywhere from a day to as low as a couple hours it's at 75%, and by 4 days max it's telling me to change them! As an aside, the quicker depletions seem to be when I am using
my headset (which I have been a lot more recently, raids and all).

Is there something I can do about this on my end, or at the worst case is this a fixable problem?

Thank you for your time in reading this, and for any and all help you may be able to give me.

    :)

  2. Usb cable not working after controllee update.

Insert a new set of AA batteries into the wireless controller and then try to turn it on. For more information about using AA batteries in a wireless controller, see Using AA batteries in your Xbox One wireless controller. If you have an Xbox One Play and
Charge Kit, try using the rechargeable battery pack.

If this solution does not work please try the following solutions

  3. Xbox one controller won't work at all

    Hi there Thomasarus21,

I want to first verify the batteries you are using, brand, power, etc.

-I start here because this controller does not function off the same power as the xbox 360 controller. Also all batteries are not created to fully function on the xbox one controller. I assume you are using the batteries that come with the controller...but
    just in case....

Here is something you've probably read but I thought to post it just in case :

    AA Batteries -
    support.xbox.com/.../using-aa-batteries

    Rechargeable batteries -
    support.xbox.com/.../wireless-controller-rechargeable-batteries

In short the resolution is to first buy two batteries per the support link (based on your preferences) but I'm not trying to discount that you may have, in some way purchased a bad controller two times.

    Hey there!

Thanks for posting. Are the batteries firmly placed in? I'm afraid that drop could have possibly damaged something in that area of the controller where the battery could be slightly off. With the details already provided, the best advice we can give is to
have the controller replaced through our
    Online Service Center
. We do not recommend opening the controller up as that would void the warranty on it.

    Hope that helps!

How long does the battery keep its charge for you guys while the Xbox Adaptive Controller is not being used?

You may want to try fully charging the controller and then leaving it disconnected from the charger for a few days to see if the battery still drains quickly. If the problem persists, it is possible that there is an issue with the battery or electronics of the controller.

Will the Xbox One have rechargeable or regular batteries?

I think it should accept regular batteries AA or AAA. If it's an internal battery which can only be charged via USB, not AC adaptor, then the controller is a fail. Because USB charging is much slower compared to AC adaptor power.

A controller is a high drain device. Take the wireless 360 controller. I use Engergizer rechargable Nickel Metal Hydride 2450 mAh AA batteries and on a full charge provide about 20 hours of use for my controller.

what cable do I need to recharge my Xbox X batteries

That would depend on the batteries. If they are standard AA batteries, recharagable or not, then they cannot be charged in the controller. Rechargable AA batteries need to be charged with an AA battery charger. The only battery that can be charged in the controller is the Xbox play and charge battery.
