    Xbox One pauses playback of streamed show when it recognizes somebody


    We recently purchased an xbox one with kinnect (two days before the major update came out - the update seems to have installed properly). We only have one issue that is really annoying. When we stream a show from Netflix or Amazon, and Xbox One recognizes a
    new person walking into the room, Xbox One says, "Hello name of person" and pauses playback of the show until you click "a" and select to continue playback. Is there a setting to stop this?

    No subtitles during live pause playback

    Hey guys

    First noticed this problem after latest dashboard update. I frequently watch live tv with subtitles enabled which works perfectly. However before the update I could pause playback and when replaying subtitles would work. After update I pause, and the subtitles
    don't show on playback. contacted customer support who couldn't help. Has anyone got the same issue?

    Xbox One Blu-ray App Problem

    Hello,

    I have an issue regarding the Blu-ray playback functionality on the Xbox One.

    I've downloaded and installed the Blu-ray app but whenever I insert a Blu-ray disc and attempt to play it, I'm greeted with a black screen. I can bring up the playback options to pause and fast forward, but it does nothing. I am DEFINITELY using a compatible
    Blu-ray disc and in terms of regions. I've also been playing Battlefield 4 and Dead Rising 3 using discs so I'm fairly sure it's not a disc drive fault. Could somebody please help?

    Xbox One pauses playback of streamed show when it recognizes somebody

    This has existed since the Xbox One launched, unfortunately the only way to stop it is to disable the setting to detect people on Kinect and sign them in manually when the person wants to use the console.

    I had the exact same issue as you describe and raised it with feedback but it was never addressed so had to disable the option so I could use video streaming. Even some games would kick me out and sign in the 2nd person mid game Xbox One pauses playback of streamed show when it recognizes somebody :(

    No...it's nothing like streaming a movie.

    .

    Controlling a movie stream is local. When you pause it, the stream doesn't pause, just the local playback. Controlling a game and all the inherent changes within the game world is an entirely different matter.
