Xbox One party chat not working?

When I am in a party with others I can here them fine bit they can't hear me or they hear static. The little circle doesn't light up when I speak, expect when there is static. My NAT type is moderate (which should be fine?) and I have brought both a new
controller and new headset and the problem remains. Also have run network troubleshot, which shows everything is fine. Used to work, started two or three months ago.

This is the cause most of the time, occasionally it is fine.

Would be grateful for help.

xbox one and joining a party

Xbox One and Xbox 360 party systems are not compatible with each other. You can only join other Xbox One players in party chat.

You can chat with Xbox 360 friends using Skype though.

 

Party Chat Not Working

Hey all,

Just signed up as I got my xbox one today. Loving it so far.

However has anyone figured Party chat yet? I can start a party and join the chat, but no one else in that party can.

additionally if i join a party I'm unable to join the chat and get the message "Party chat cannot be started at this time"

Any Ideas?

I have a brand new controller and the chat adapter doesnt work anymore.. I used the 3.5mm cable jack for a few hours and then it stopped working too.. It's a software problem with the controller..microsoft needs to fix asap or refund everyone.. Seriously,
on the bubble ready to return this new halo TB xbox console and just goto pc platform.

Thanks for the support message.

To start off, please try power cycling your console by holding down the power button on the console for 10 seconds, leaving it off for 30-60 seconds, then power it back on. I see that you already posted your NAT type is Moderate (thanks for that!)

If power cycling the console doesn't resolve the issue, please start a party but don't invite any of your friends to it and unmute your mic. When you unmute your mic in a party by yourself, talk, and see if the green circle lights up when you talk. Please
also see if you can talk to a friend and hear them in game chat. We also want to try to send a voice message to a friend and see if you can send it. Play it back to yourself and see if you can hear yourself. Also, what headset are you trying to use?
