Xbox One owners feel like they are being penalized on Gold offers?

I am going to have to buy an external drive for all the free / discounted games I am getting .

I agree matey. it has got the misses into playing too. She really like guacamelee and LOVES rayman.. such a cracking title from GwG

 

^^ You should really give Child of Light a go,it is a great little game.

 

They didn't appeal to me either, though decided to download Child Of Light because it was a relatively small game. I only played for about 45 minutes or so, but it seems interesting enough.

The feeling of being penalized is ones own psychology. Realize that this is a new generation. And with a new generation comes a new beginning. This is not an extension of the 7th Gen.

You say so many people are missing the point, yet you would have never looked twice at Tomb Raider or Bioshock? Both highly rated games too. Something smells amiss. Also, Bioshock is 8 years old. Steam practically gives it away.

 

To clarify, people should be viewing the programme as a chance to play games they wouldn`t normally give a second look.

Games they are interested in they would surely have bought prior to them being given away.

Choosing not to bother to download them because you may not like them makes no sense.

If i had chosen not to download those three games i would never have found out how much i would enjoy them.

You say they were highly rated?, not by me otherwise i would have bought them a long time ago.

Bioshock infinite is not 8 years old, you surely knew i meant that game as the original is yet to part of the programme.

Maybe you can clarify what "smells amiss"

 

That is an interesting point of view Owen. I know I have downloaded a few that I would have never played. Some solidified my point of view, while others surprised me (Max Curse of the Brotherhood for example)

 

Too be honest im quite happy with games with gold. I like that I have been able too test some games out that I would most definitely not buy.

It had less of a sting when I found out the game wasnt for me.

I will admit I was kinda bummed when xbox ones gwg first started as i already had their first few line ups so it felt as if there was no reward for the people actually buying up all the games....

 

i see nothing to complain about, as pointed out, it is too soon for MS to be giving away AAA titles that are still possibly making money. i personally have been very happy with GwG on both consoles, the 360 is giving me the chance to play games i passed
on before, like Sleeping Dog, i passed on that game because it looked boring like GTA, but then found it to be really fun and even picked up the remaster, i also found that i don't like The Witcher or Assassins Creed. on the X1 i've been getting my fill of
platformers and indie games, which are games that i wouldn't normally play and enjoyed several of them, Child of Light being my favorite, even bought it again for my PS Vista.

but at the end of the day, the games don't matter that much to me, if i want to play a game, i'll buy it, so if MS stops GwG altogether, i'd still keep my Xbox Live Gold to play online cause that's what i've been paying for since Xbox Live was in beta.

 

Such things just come with being an earlier adopter.

 

I wonder if it would have been worth Microsoft holding off on Games With Gold for the One until there was a larger back catalogue to pull from?Maybe 12 to 18 months?

Then again I can just picture the complaint threads now. "The 360 get free games but I don't on my $500 One."
