Xbox One owners feel like they are being penalized on Gold offers?

Free is...well, free. Some I like, others not so much. I never bought any of my consoles expecting things free, so win for me! Lol. To put my thoughts into perspective; if Fallout 4 released tomorrow for $59.99, and I knew in thirty days it would be FREE,
I would pay the coin and not wait. Video games are a hobby and not a necessity. If you bought a new console expecting Microsoft to keep you supplied with AAA titles because paying for them is a hardship...well, maybe it's time to rethink your priorities in
life. I want a S.R.T. Viper, and while I could probably afford the payments, the insurance and upkeep would be a burden financially...i don't complain that the Chrysler Group won't give me the above mentioned necessities to own the car.

Gold Membership

Please tell me the advantage of having a Gold Membership on Xbox 360 beginning in June.

I purchased Gold for 1 year but with the changes being implemented on June 1st, what do I get for being a Gold Membership holder on Xbox 360?

It appears the only advantage is to owners of the Xbox One. I just bought a new 360 so I am
NOT going to buy an Xbox One.

I am a mature owner of 50+ years old, so I'm not your average consumer/gamer. I got the Gold Membership to be able to access Netflix, Hulu, VEVO, etc. There are no children in my household, just 2 adults & only 1 plays with the Xbox.

So what do I get for Gold Membership? Or should I say us owners of Xbox 360/Kinect

 

Save XBox One Players' Shopping Safety With Gift Card Option For 360 Games!

Microsoft, please allow XBox One players to use gift cards on buying 360 games and DLC along with the XBox One games! Buying gift cards are helpful with making sure no player gets penalized from overspending. When the XBox 360 games are what the players
want back onto their XBox Ones, or added along to the XBox One, and they buy gift cards to avoid being penalized from overspending, it would help a lot to be able to use gift card option on the website or XBox One to get the backwards compatible games! I almost
got penalized for trying to use the gift card option to buy a backwards compatible game! Please save players from doing that penalization and help them get their growing collection of games!

 

Math problem for today:

The Xbox 360 has been out for 10 years and has over 1,000 games in its library. The Xbox One has been out for 1.5 years and has ~350 games in its library. Which of these 2 consoles has the larger library of games to choose from and therefore, a greater pool
of games that are available for the GWG program?

Extra credit:

Explain why the console with the greater pool of games to choose from might have "better games" than the other.

 

For an extra bonus explain why these "better" games are available second hand (and new in some cases) for peanuts?

You don't speak for me OP. Quite happy with what is offered. The Xbox 360 games are better value to me as they stay free with or without gold. Xbox one freebies are free as long as you stay Gold.

Buying the 360 at launch was fairly costly. So that console is getting some rewards that were not there at launch. Plus, it would be hard to keep up with the 360 in these terms because of its age and much, much larger library of games. Personally I have
these 360 games but will dl them digital anyway. So I really get nothing on 360. But I am getting a Child of Light game on the One which I will play as well as Rayman, Guacamelee, and stuff. So far I feel, considering the small library available so far
they have done a great job.

And when games that are older, like the ones the 360 is getting now, come for the One people will complain they have these games and they are old. Guess expectations need checked because I do not see very many (if any) new releases will come with games
for gold when it comes to full $60 releases.

Basically I am glad to see MS give some of these newer "arcade" games at this point.

I'm perfectly happy getting free games; not sure why people complain about it - doing so seems incredibly silly to me as well as a waste of time. MS could decide to give you nothing at all, ya know. I say take what they give you and be happy, because what
they are giving you is really, really good. Don't be so spoiled; it's unbecoming...

 

I think it is understandable why people complain about the free games.

Rather than being free, they are in fact part of the Gold subscription and last I checked you had to pay for that. This is especially true on the One where you can only continue to access the free games as long as you keep paying.

Now I know what people are going to say "Microsoft don't have to give these games away". No arguments from me there, it's very true that they don't have to. But they do and you have to be paying to get them.

 

It's an APRIL FOOLS PRANK. They bring out what may be called better games for last gen because, let me think, games on Xbox 1 LOOK better thanks to Xbox 1's better processing power and 8GB RAM instead of teny 512MB RAM. Some months they may have good deals,
others not. Be grateful they're even doing this promotion on Xbox 360 and Xbox 1. Honestly, some people need to know HOW to be grateful for things. It's the thought that counts.

 

@Vaynel, the programme is called games with gold, its not called games for free.

 

@Vaynel: if you get a game in the GWG you will always have that game. It doesn't expire when your gold expires. You will lose any multiplay functionality that the game might have due to gold being a requirement in order to play on xbox live, but if that
game has any single play it is still able to function on that mode even if you are silver.

It never ceases to amaze me, MS could part the seas and let people walk on dry ground, and yet there will be some who will complain because the ground isn't paved.

 

You lose the game on Xbox One if your Gold Sub runs out. You regain the game if you renew your Gold sub. So your statement about single player access for Silver accounts with One games is simply wrong.
