    Xbox One Outdated?

Well I know a lot of people complain about the next gen counsels struggling to support high frame rates and screen resolutions. Technology is advancing faster than I think people have expected, 4k TV's are even becoming more popular and replaced by 1080p
on the shelfs which next-gen counsels can not support. My $300 laptop has more processing power than the Xbox One.

The reason I am bringing all this up is because, is there a way that they can make Xbox One upgrade-able to support more power and graphics? Like would it be possible for them to make something you can buy and attach to your Xbox? How are they going to compete
with the advancement of technology in computers and screens that is growing so rapidly?

    :)

I also read this in an article for those thinking 4k is not a big deal:

"4K/UHD TVs are already here in numbers, and will likely become the de facto resolution for TVs – certainly big-screen TVs – in two years. Content creation in 4K is also really proceeding at pace now, from both the film studios and, it increasingly seems,
the TV broadcasters. Also, at the recent IFA technology show in Berlin a 4K Blu-ray standard was announced ahead of a Christmas 2015 product launch.

Netflix already supplies 4K streams, Amazon is going to kick them off next month (October 2014) too, and UltraFlix is also emerging as a major 4K player, having just secured a berth on Sony’s 4K TVs. Tivo, too, recently indicated its interest in 4K. And
this is all just the tip of the iceberg so far as recent 4K content news is concerned.

    ....

The bottom line is that within two years tops 4K resolution will be almost everywhere: in cinemas, on the internet, on discs, on HDDs, and on millions of TV screens. In fact, the only place it won’t be is on your games console.

    ...

To illustrate how much can change in just a year at the moment as 4K takes off, even if Sony and Microsoft had waited another 18 months to launch their consoles then at least 4K features like video streaming, a proper 4K connection standard and even potentially
a 4K Blu-ray standard would have been established, making the consoles far more effective and future-proof 4K devices than they are in their current form."

  5. When it comes, I'll deal with it then. As for now, though, I'm going to choose not to worry. Xbox One Outdated? ;)

Resolution is not graphics so all will be fine. Thats what consoles do. A Decent PC will always be better if you are chasing that sort of thing.

Over the last few months I've seen various developers comment saying that they think these new gen consoles are already out of date and won't last the 10 year life span that we have heard from Microsoft etc, who knows?

All I know is, graphics wise I've already seen some stunning looking games, day one titles aswell and as time goes on we always seen better looking/bigger games as developers learn new tricks, new updates added etc! We saw this happen on the 360/PS3 but
as Rippen said above, if your chasing this sort of thing then a decent gaming PC is your better option.

Not positive but I believe these consoles can or will support 4k tv's via updates. 4k is nice too, but if you don't know this, you should, and that is the ISP providers are going to gauge you with higher prices to enable 4k support, meaning that in turn
all these streaming services will have to raise their rates to supply you with 4k support...ISP's suck...

These consoles were outdated at launch going by pc standards but its the best us console gamers have. I'm happy for now. Also, there are tv's with 8k resolution.

  10. Everything is outdated by PC standards. But for the average consumer and non gamer, which is most people, it's fireworks man. None of that changes the fact that your ISP will charge you more for 4k or even 8k support. So owning one of those TV's is going
to have much more overhead costs to actually benefit from their ability to stream @ 4k or even 8k...

the day you build a pc or buy a new one, it is waaaaaay outdated, these consoles will most likely support outputting 4k via blueray, stream etc etc, but gaming in 4k on a console is a long time off, people are already moaning about the file sizes now, wait
till they get 4k and having to download games in excess of 80GB.

  12. 4K is marching towards a standard but both consoles could support 4K rather sooner then later. The HD inputs are not true 4K at the moment on either console. Expect this to change in time with slimmer new hardware from Sony and Microsoft imminent.

    Xbox One Outdated?

I appreciate all the comments and replies, I was wondering though, is the Xbox One upgrade-able via attachments/physical add-on's?

Yes they can do a lot they allow external hard drives now and that will be what will keep them alive while other will struggle and will need a new console sooner then later.

Translation to this is the Xbox One can get faster that way.

Its not just storage there are some that work with Xbox One so dont worry too much
