Xbox one orginal powering off

My Xbox kept turning off after a couple seconds, usually before the profile selection page,

SoI opened it and cleaned it but then it wouldn't turn on with the power button or remote

I thought I **** up the ribbon, or something, but then I put a disc in it to see if it would turn on and it did it played for about 10 minutes then it turned off again and then when I clicked on again it turns off almost immediately. The power button and everything is working again like normal now. So the ribbon is fine.

When I opened it I noticed the thermal paste obviously needs replaced, thin, worn, slight browning, which I plan on doing tomorrow

Could that be causing my problem or something else, I just want to know so I can work on it when I open it back up

Lets try the option that xbox recommend step by step

Solution 1: If the console is too hot

- If you see a message that says your Xbox is getting improper ventilation, or if the console is hot to the touch, follow these steps:

Turn off the console.

Wait at least one hour.

Move the console to a well-ventilated spot.

Turn on the console.

Solution 2: Troubleshoot your power supply

Solution 3: Change the console setting so it doesnt turn off automatically

Turn on the console.

Press the Xbox button  on your controller to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Power options.

Under Options, select Turn off after, and then select Don’t turn off automatically.

Solution 4: Perform a system reset to clear any corruption

Thank you for the help I thought it was the thermal paste I'll change it today and I got the Xbox 2nd hand so the sticker was already kaput so I knew the warranty was void (thus taking it apart)

But I figured it may be an overheating thing, if the thermal paste isn't working ik the Xbox has safety features to prevent it from turning on, I'd rather that than the hard drive going out or sum

It sounds to me that if it is a matter of overheating, and if you mention that the thermal paste is not working, it would be a good option to change it, but of course, after we open the console, said console loses its warranty because we no longer assure Microsoft that the console is working correctly as it left the factory, then I make it clear that this decision is made by you

I got it brand new thermal pasts, I used the CORSAIR - XTM70 Extreme Performance

It played through a whole game for the first time

Made a disc eject sound

Then turned back off
