    XBOX ONE Optical Drive Problem!!!

    Dear,

I bought the Xbox Box One 26 November 2013 in Brazil and today 16 February 2014 the optical drive doesn´t work, doing a strange noise when you insert the CD / Bluray.

After some tries to insert the CD, the optical drive can´t read, ie, fail to read.

I saw some post and videos with the same problem as mine.

    What can I do?

    Waitng for response,

    Regards

    Kennon

    :)

  3. Are things getting better for the xb1?

Consoles have always had a fair amount of optical drive problems.

The Original xbox had 6 different optical drives, and all 6 had issues of one form or another.

All 360's as well had optical drive problems. Even the slim and E models.

So does the X1, but from what I read. Their problems was mostely not loading the disc all the way in, and so read errors occured. One guy solved the problem by holding the console up in front while loading disc's, while another solved his problem by slapping
the top of the console. While still another solved his by returning the console for an exchange.

Even the PS1 2, 3, and 4 have these problems.

Long story short. Optical drives, on either current gen consoles will develope load/read problems.

    XBOX ONE Optical Drive Problem!!!

    Hi Kennon!

    Try some of these steps

    **Settings > Disc & Blu-ray > Blu-ray settings > Persistent Storage > Clear

    Do this three times

    **Hard reset

Press power console power button for 5 seconds or more till it turns off.

Unplug power from the wall outlet

Give it a good 2-3 minutes

Make sure the you directly plug it on the wall outlet. (No surge protectors)

    Turn on console

Your disc drive will fail too!

lol Optical drives on the Original Xbox Console were junk. It took until 2004 for them to finally choose a manufacture of Quality Optical Drives.

Xbox 360 Phat (early gen 360's) were OK at best, but the Slim got an Optical Drive upgrade that were next to bullet proof. Don't know about the E models Optical Drives.

Xbox One's hit the market with a few broken Optical Drives right out of the box. Search "Day One Xbox One Drive noises/misreading..."

My X1, I have used for hours on end play Borderlands over the past 3 weeks, and thus far the only problem I have had is the system asking me if I own this game with the Disc in. Take out and reinsert the Disc, and all's well again. (Knock on Wood)

So I can only hope the Optical Drive is a quality one that will last long past warranties end.

Personal note: Do not put your finger in the center hole on the disc while inserting it. The Optical Drive will suck in the Disc faster than you'd expect it to. Thought I would loose my finger when it happened to me. That thing will not release the disc
until seconds later forcing you to loose some skin in order to get your finger out. Very painful.
