Xbox one only plays some blu rays in 3d

My xbox one will only play one blu ray in 3d, the film Dredd. Every other one I own plays the 3d disk in 2d only. The xbox is connected directly into my bush 3d tvs hdmi 1 port with a known good hdmi cable that works with my 3d blu ray player. All the
films play in 3d using my lg blu ray player using the same port and cable. I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling the blu ray app and 3d in enabled in settings.

The issue appears localised to xbox. Is this a hardware/software issue, should I return my xbox?

@dude, I think they say that cause your not allowed to comment about future hardware the other person may have not known and said it out. but lets all ask our selfs this...a blu-ray player plays blu-rays regular or 3D why would Xbox one will be to only Blu-ray
player on the planet that plays regular blu-ray? regular blu-ray and 3D blu-rays use the same disc fame format just written diffrently on the disc but both can be picked up by the same laser, yes yes, and yes It plays 3D movies and games

No 3d Blu-ray support at launch. I do believe they will add it in a update at some point like the ps3 did...reviews.cnet.com/.../xbox-one-wont-play-3d-blu-rays-for-now

I am having the same problem as you except I only have 2 3D movies and neither one will play in 3D. I believe this app was updated a couple of weeks ago but I just tried 3D and it will not work. I know it worked a month ago as I watched a 3D movie with
no issue. I have uninstalled and cleared the Blue-ray storage but still not working. I am on the preview program and not sure if it is related.

I have 2 3d movies, one of which works (avatar) and the second doesn't (dredd). Please tell me what i am doing wrong Microsoft.

Mine is the other way around, avatar only plays in 2d even though I have the 3D box ticked and chose to play the film in 3D. Harry Potter worked well but for some reason avatar will not work. Any ideas????

The Xbox One does play Blu-Ray and DVD, but keep in mind *3D Blu-Ray's will not work*.

I'm getting a bit concerned that maybe the Xbox One WILL NOT play 3d blu ray movies. This article was posted on Cnet being fairly sure it won't:

When I tweeted Xbox Support they have no information at this time (despite telling someone in May it will play 3D blu rays).

Is there an official word on the legitmacy of the Cnet article?

Xbox One supports 3D Blu-ray discs when played on 3D TVs. Try checking whether there are any updates for The Blu-ray player app
