Xbox one only functions whenever I'm not on my home network. then runs for 15 seconds ...

This one is going to need some explaining. This is my second Xbox One console. The first one was fine except for the disk drive refused to operate, but this replacement… I swear the stupid thing is cursed.

When I got the replacement the network function just would not work. So I took it over to a friend’s house. No problems. Got the OS installed and everything else was fine. Got it back home and the thing refused to turn on. 45 minutes of yanking the
power plug and everything else that I could find on the support site.

Then I discovered that this song and dance happens every single time that it turns off when in power saver mode. Simple fix, just switch it to always on mode and watch your electric bill jump twenty bucks. The thing ran fine until the internet went
down for any amount of time. Then it’s back to the “X-Bone Tango” of hard resets, resetting the video output (eject+power) until the thing starts to work again.

A couple of months ago the thing learned a new trick. You had to leave it in the “lights on but nobody’s home” mode (three failures to launch=self-diagnostic) and leaving it there for 45 minutes to 3 hours. The latter is usually preferred as an early
launch just leaves it in a non-functional state and you have to start the whole process all over again.

Then sometime in January it just quit working altogether. Completely non-functional. But that is where this whole situation veers off into the completely making no sense at all.

I tried everything. The system absolutely refused to turn on. it would not even run the stupid self-diagnostic anymore. So I grabbed a memory stick downloaded the offline tool and loaded it. The console would start reading the stick and then shut off.

At this point to say I was ticked off would be a massive understatement. I was waiting to cool off before called support. Then I got a call and tossed my Xbox One, a computer monitor, and every game I could pack and tossed it in the trunk. After I
got there I unpacked it, hooked it up, and then got called away.

My brother walks over and asks me just what the problem was. He said it works fine. I honestly thought he was lying to me, then I saw his kids playing the Master Chief Collection. I took the controller from them, made sure that the game saves where
all up to date and reset the thing back to factory.

Three days later the thing was working fine, so I just left it there. But today I decided that I would finally bring it home. I get it home boot it up and after 15 seconds at the home screen the thing just shuts off. Literally back to the same exact
situation before the factory reset. Completely and utterly nonfunctional. So I had a crazy idea and took it back. It booted back up without a problem. Took it back home and after 15 seconds CRASH!

At this point I am at a loss for words. Is there some weird requirement that I’m not meeting? I do not want to travel somewhere just to play my Xbox. Hell, lately I’ve been playing my 360 because IT ACTUALLY F****** WORKS!

I'm having an issue with my Xbox One where whenever I go to the Home screen

I'm having an issue with my Xbox One where whenever I go to the Home screen and hit right on the d-pad where I can go through my messages and friends list for ~15 seconds but then it freezes and the only way to fix this is by hitting the home button again.
The issue is I can't even check most my messages or even stay in a party chat.

 

FIFA 19 Won't Start (XBOX)

FIFA 19 Will not start on my XBOX. When I launch it shows the new Title screen for about 10-15 seconds, then shows a black screen for 10-15 seconds, then drops back to the main home screen. Please Help!

 

This is an odd issue. I'm wondering though if it's not a problem with your home's power supply. Do you have the console plugged into a power bar? If so, try plugging it directly into a wall socket. If that doesn't work, try other outlets around the house
to see if you still experience the same issue.

 

Actually tried that this morning. For the most part it seems to not be it. Unless the power supply can cause the system to freeze during launch on the times that I can actually get it to run.

To clarify, it crashes on the initial startup screen and the audio just skips. It stays that way until I shut it off.

I was kind of hoping that was it though.

As I typed this up the thing started working again. To start it just shut my TV off. It was weird as it was not outputting audio to the surround sound (Optical) or video to the TV. So I restarted the thing. It worked... for about the amount of time to start
browsing Hulu after being too afraid to touch the thing. The time up is up to 15 minutes. At this rate of increase I should be able to watch a TV show in about a day or two.

Back to streaming on my 360... hoping that the TV shutting down is the new ready to boot indicator.
