Xbox one online play issues on a cascaded router behind ATT BGW-210

Alright, this one may be a doozy.

I have a fiber connection, with a tp link router set up behind the ATT BGW-210 gateway in passthrough cascaded mode. I did this because of the horrible bufferbloat issues when going using only the ATT gateway.
Everything works perfectly on my PC and PS4, I can play games online with no issues.

The Xbox however has an issue. No online games/ matchmaking works despite the NAT showing as open, and all other connection tests working perfectly. The console is able to download games, connect to Xbox
live, etc, it just will not matchmake or connect to any online game.

When connecting the Xbox to my phone's mobile hotspot however, it can play online, meaning the issue has to be network related. However, seeing as the PS4 works fine, AND the upnp on my cascaded router is
picking up the Xbox one, I doubt that port forwarding is the issue.

It feels like I have tested for all sources of the problem, but there must be something I'm missing. I have also tried changing the DNS settings on the Xbox, doing, soft, hard resets, etc.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you are having issues with online play with the Xbox. We recommend reaching out to your ISP. AS there may be a block or something on certain ports. Have known a couple ISP to temporary block ports due to issues.

Thanks for the response, but i doubt that is the issue. If the Xbox is connected directly to the ISP's gateway, it works. However, the performance isnt great, which is why I have my own router set up behind it. So i Don't think that a port being blocked
by the ISP would be the issue.

I have tried several different methods that I found online and finally found one that works. I have att 2wire an xbox one and 360 and now both run with an open nat at the same time and have not disconnected or given me nay problems at all for 3 days now.

i figured it out...i have ATT U-verse and the router they gave me is not compatible with Windows Home Server so i had to put a router behind it in my network so i could use remote access. i had the xbox connected to the 2nd router before, when i put to
ATT's router i got through a whole game so the problem is connecting through the 2nd router...but i still don't get why i didn't lose connection with any other games while connected the original way.

It only appears on my xbox one. I am using a ATT fiber router.
