XBox One On screen keyboard disable

Hi,

I play Minecraft with my daughter, 3 player split screen.

My oldest daughter is now getting into commands.

We have a USB keyboard plugged directly into XBox to assist with that.

Problem is whenever she types on keyboard the on-screen keyboard appear meaning we all have to stop playing until she is done.

There doesn't appear to be a setting on the console to disable the on screen keyboard.

Have also tried switching off Settings/XBox One/'Show the keyboard when i am typing on my console' on my Windows 10 PC's Xbox Console Companion App to try and fix this problem with no Joy.

Is there a way to disable the annoying on screen keyboard when using a USB keyboard directly into the Console?

There may still be conflicts if this can be achieved as LB on others players controllers may input back spaces if a text input box is open.

Hello Dorian, unfortunately currently there is no way to disable the on-screen keyboard for Xbox One console.

However in the Windows 10 try to go Xbox App Navigate to Settings, then under the Xbox One tab there is a toggle switch at the bottom to disable the on-screen keyboard.

Yes you can disable the on screen keyboard. Get the Windows 10 App, you can turn it off from there. It's under "settings" and under the headline "Typing on my Xbox One."

wow well please update me when you update that setting, i mean its such a simple change, why cant disable the "onscreen keyboard app" ? i mean all you guys at microsoft have to do is make it so we can have access to the on/off function of the old fasioned
''onscreen'' style keyboard app.

At this time I don't think so, though it's a good idea to add the option for keyboard users! Pretty sure it opens if you use SmartGlass as well. lol
