XBOX one on 220v grid (KUWAIT)

I brought by XBOX One from the states for my tour here in KUWAIT. Like an idiot, I plugged it in to the power strip provided here in my room and the power brick fried instantly. I know... dumb move. Anyway, the brick was plugged into the XBOX. I don't think
any damage was done to the actual console but I cant be sure. Obviously there are plenty of people using the systems here and elsewhere with the same power grid setups. My questions are: What is the likelihood that I fried the XBOX itself and not just the
power brick, and what is the best/most reliable way to convert the power so it usable? I've heard plenty about step down converters and such but I just want to do it right and not keep wasting money trying different setups until I find one that works.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

    :)

    Xbox one x burning smell

I just bought my second onex and noticed the same thing. Mine was running on 220v (I'm in Kuwait for work) and I used a transformer to step down to 110v and plugged it back in and the smell is gone. I would assume it is the xbox burning off something because
the 220 to 110 step down causes a ton of heat. I solved mine by doing it externally.

The power brick has a built in surge protector so your console is probably ok.

You should never use any kind of step down converter with your console as it can cause no end of problems & would void your warrenty,

The only option is to buy the correct power brick for the country you are using the console in.

    GamePass PC 3M, cannot redeem

Well for.one Kuwait isn't an xbox live region

You need to address it with your vendor

In order to buy or play Xbox games you need to be in a supported region

    Kuwait usnt one of them.
