Xbox one not working properly

I recently brought a new xbox one with kinect from gamestop.

I've had it for about a week and starting yesterday it began to freeze when playing games like watchdogs and dead rising 3.

Today I was free roaming in watchdogs and the save icon came up but never left. It prevented me from playing so after about 10 minutes I just pressed the home screen. This is where my main problem began.

At the home screen I was unable to press anything or go anywhere. I was frozen completely except for my watchdogs game which was only showing movment on the save icon. I tried using my kinect voice commands but even that was frozen. I checked every wire
and they were all plugged in firmly.

After turning the xbox off the light started to blink white and fade then blink again. I tried pressing it every now and then but nothing would happen. I disconnected the power cord and booted it up again. This time it didnt even reach the home screen. It
was stuck on the green xbox logo for 5 minutes. Disconnected the power supply and left it there.

Im thinking of returning it to gamestop but I want to know if there is something wrong im doing. Any suggestions? I left to work so hopefully it will get better when I come back later today.

i try to turn my xbox one on and it takes 5 minutes to turn on it just stays on the xbox one screen ( green screen with the three dots on the bootom) for a good 5 minutes but sometimes it loads up to dashboard in like 20 seconds and then when it finally
loads up it just goes on dashboard and i turn my control on but i cant move anything nothing happens and from time to time it freezes and also it has problems connecting to the wifi however i have run wifi checks on my other devices and its fine and it says
im connected to the internet fine on the xbox however it never works, only got this last wednesday so help would be much appreciated

 

Xbox one app not working properly

This means an app requires information to your data, go into your privacy settings on the xbox (accounts) and then you can set the one that is required to everyone. This will resolve your issue.

 

Try a full power cycle on the Xbox. When you press power to turn it off, it puts it into more of a standby mode.

Press and hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds. You should see the light on the power supply/brick turn orange. Give it 30 seconds. Then press the power button on the console again to turn it on.

When the power light was blinking over a prolonged period of time, it may very well have been trying to perform a system update. Could you potentially connect it back up and start it up and just leave it for a while and see if it returns to the home screen?

 

I forgot to mention that I have previously left it over night in this stand by mode in case it was updating and when I woke up it was still blinking so I doubt it was an update. I didnt know you can press and hold the power button like that so I will give
it a shot when I come home! I will update in around 6 hours and tell you guys how it goes

 

Ok I got home and turned on my xbox and im stuck at the xbox logo with the green backround.

I tried holding the power button for 10 seconds and rebooted but it doesnt go past the green screen.

I have been waiting for 30 minutes at the green logo

 

Hey Bleux400 go on this link right here it will take you through step by step information about how to solve the green screen issue. You will probably need to power cycle your Xbox meaning hold the button until it is completely shut off and then unplug and
wait 30 seconds and then turn back on. If that doesn't work it will tell you to use the offline system update diagnostic tool. Finally if that doesn't work then it needs to be repaired. I Hope that helps man. Here is the link:

Turns out I have to get it repaired

I will try to exchange it at gamestop but I dont expect them to help me.

I'm one of the beta testers and after the official public release of the update 1406 I don't know if others are having this problem too my xbox one keeps freezing up when one of my games has an update. I was trying to load another game while my Forza downloads
it's up date and it would freeze up on me I did the hard shut down at least 6 time.
