XBOX ONE not working in Australia location setting

My Xbox One is relatively old - 2014, and warranty expired in 2016. Bought, registered and only ever used in Australia

For the last year it only works on United States location setting. This means I cannot access the Australia Store to buy movies and games.

If I change it to location of Australia, it prompts a download on English (Australian) and restarts. Upon restart I get Green Screen errors, E208 error messages, or the console just freezes on the home screen and the console is unusable. Despite factory resets etc where both remove all games aor keep them, the only way to get it to work again is to change the location on the account reset to United States. Note no VPNs are being used for this 5G wireless

connection for the device.

I have been suggested to take it in for a service, bit there are no service options available when I try to process, and it's 6 years out of warranty. I don't even know what to say to the shop "it works fine for installed games, games off discs, game pass downloads, cloud gaming...but only if set to United States, not Australia"?? And only recently, not for the first 5 years of its life... I can't see how a shop can fix that.

One answer suggested this is a known issue caused by xbox/Microsoft after a required device update. But I can't find, that or the solution to fix.

Please help as I'd really like to spend some money to buy a new game - but can't.

Just to check something, you want to use the US/Canadian Store on your console, while also moving your account to the North American Game Pass subscription, or what you want to do?

You don't need to change your device location.

Check and review your Microsoft account details prior to factory refreshing the "relatively old Xbox One - 2014, ".

You can choose to Keep games and apps while refreshing the XBOX console OS or wipe everything and start out fresh.

Personally I would update your console.

Your account details can be easily installed on another console using the Xbox App and Authenticator App. Both work perfectly in Australia.

No - I want to use the Australia Store, in Australia with my Australian credit-card (that pays my monthly Game Pass subscription with $AUD in Australia) on my Australian xbox one.

(My understanding is the only way to access the Australia Store is to change the location setting - But as above, the console becomes unusable on a Australia location setting with multiple errors, that arnt experienced when set to US).

Not part of the xbox insider program. Should I download the bundle?

Game Pass ultimate is on an Australian Credit Card - but (due to the location setting), it's the United States and Canada consumer store on my device.

They have different movies 🎬 that are not available yet in Australia. Online games Fallout 76 etc seem to put me on Australian servers - but if I change my location, the whole device fails to work properly....every time.

I changed it to UK and English UK and it worked fine - no store access though.

So I changed it to Australia with English UK language. It's working fine so far, I can see the Australian store in AUD, but it also keeps asking me to update the store. This has happened on previous occasions so I'm afraid if I update the store it'll crash. I'll leave for a while to see if there are any other errors and then try to update the store and see if it works.
