Xbox one max download speed caps at 50Mbps

i am trying to figure out why my Xbox one isn't using most of my download speed. Speedtest (not my ISP theoretical) says I'm getting 380 on desktop and iPhone is getting 368Mbps. Xbox one has open NAT but is getting only 50 as download speed. I connected
it directly to the wireless modem w an Ethernet but still 50 is the highest it'll go. Any solutions or explanations?

    Unable to download purchased content

Yes Im using a wired connection directly through a router. Using a different hard drive was one of my first attempts. I have tried on a usb, bought a new HD aswell, Tried to download on my old console, followed all suggestions from the official help page
of xbox but items still wont download.

The speed test determines (peak rate measurements) my download speed at 2.53mbps, upload of 0.36kps. The connection goes well over 4mbps in non peak hours. Still no matter what the download should progress.

When you say "My home internet recieves 105 mbps download and 60 upload" is that as measured by speedtest.net on one of your devices, or as measured by a claim from your ISP?

Its not entirely uncommon for people to be quoted a maximum theoretical bandwidth, rather than an actual by their ISP, as you mention 105 and Xfinity, I took a look at comcasts page and can see this probably is the case, they advertise it as "Up to 105 Mbps"
(emphasis on the UP TO) and use weird tricks like their "Blast!" tech. I'd imagine you've never ever got ANYTHING near 105mbps as a sustained rate on any device in your house.

I have used speed test to measure my internet and i got 114 mpbs down and 60 up so thats my actual internet. My wired PC uses the 114 also, (it has an actual download speed for 20 mega bytes per second), so i know im actually getting the speeds.

Are you sure that you aren't just getting wrapped up in the terminology issues of Megabytes per second verses megabits per second and such?

You say your PC gets 114(something), but downloads at 20 megabytes per second and thats fine, but have issue with the Xbox one reporting a download speed of 20 down?

That's the same speed? On the detailed network stats page on an Xbox One, that's your download speed its showing.

  7. You can only receive files downloading as fast as the sender can send them. If Microsoft can only send it to you at 20..... You will only get it at 20. Of course there are so many things that can affect download speeds. It can be hard to figure out.

I have a similar issue. I have 45 Mb/s down 5 Mb/s up connection according to the ISP. I can do speedtest.net from my wired computer and get 45/5. From my wireless laptop and cell phone I get speeds of 30+/5. But my X1, regardless of wired or wireless
consistently shows a download/upload of 3.5 Mbs down 3 Mbs up.

Just to let you know, most routers split the bandwidth up and can actually specify that one device gets faster speeds then another, and it can actually reserve a specific amount of speed towards a device.

Best way to fix slow throughput is:

Disconnect ALL devices Connected to the internet. Either turn Wifi off, or turn the entire devices off themselves. After that, clear the cache on your Xbox (Hold the power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds, it should shut off, keep it off)
Now look at your router. Are any lights flashing? If so, then you get to play hide and seek with whatever device is still connected to the internet. Make sure NO lights are flashing, that means there is no current connectivity which leads us to believe no
devices are set to connect automatically. Once you see all the lights stay solid for 1-2 minutes, then pull the cable out of the back of the router, and keep it unplugged for 5 minutes. We want the internal battery to die and the RAM to clear that way it can
forget all devices it had leased out.

After that 5 minute wait, turn the router back on, wait 2 minutes, all lights should be solid and green like normal. If ones flashing, go play hide and seek for wireless devices again because you missed one, otherwise, you're good to turn the console on
and connect. After that do a speed test on the console and see what you get, now your console is the primary device and other devices should receive slower speeds

KEEP IN MIND: You will NEVER receive the promised speeds on a wireless connection. Its just not going to happen (At least not in the next 10 years). There is a distance between the signal and even if its only an inch, its distance. For gaming we require
wired connections as that allows for the fastest possible speeds as well as its more direct. Most ISP's will not give you your full speed, and with Cable providers speeds go down depending on how many people in your neighborhood are using the internet. You
share with your neighbors, with DSL, its more like "You get what you pay for" Though there still might be a small difference.

@Mossssssey (did I get all the s:ess right)? - If I may! Do you know, anyone, capable of running the distance around the world, at the same time, as 100 m?

We all know that Phileas Fogg did it in 80 days.

I have the same issue. I have a 250Mbps down and 20Mbps up fiber connection and through all my other devices I actually get over 300Mbps down and 22Mbps up but my xbox one can only get between 30Mbps - 50Mbps down but 20Mbps up (and yes the xbox is wired
directly to the modem, same cat cable and modem port as I test the laptop with).

of your details, beside DL/UL bitstreams of data, I would say this is an issue related to distance.

If you go by different sites on the Internet, to "speedtest" your connectivity, these test(s) are calculated and selected (by default), on the best ping. So, as long as you don't manually pick a test server, geographically located in a different region/country/continent,
the bitstreams of data for this test, will be sent to the best routed and close-by test server and in that order.

So, the next time you run a "speedtest" from your computer, change the location to a test server located in Seattle, WA and have us know the outcome.

  14. Ok, you pay your ISP for your internet connection and they provide you with a certain bandwidth speed. Just because that speed is provided does not mean that other websites, companies, etc... Can send you data at that speed. The results that you see on the
Xbox are the current speeds that your xbox and Microsoft servers can communicate with all of the many conditions that affect internet download and upload speeds.
