  1. Xbox One Not Turning On Via Controller or Kinect

    Hi, hope you can help.

I have a strange problem with my Xbox One which started after the September update.

I have always set my Xbox One to use the ‘instant on’ power mode, however as of late when I am not using my Xbox One it has been powering itself down completely and I am unable to turn it back on again with either voice commands, via Kinect, or by using
my controller. I have to press the power button on the Xbox One itself to get it working again.

By turning my Xbox One on every 9 or 10 hours I can reduce this issue from happening but it does not eliminate the problem completely.

It has never lost power while in use and I have not experienced any other problems.

I have tried performing a soft reset and disconnecting all cables for 5 minutes, but to no avail.

The only other device which I connected around the same time this issue started was an external HDD, as I filled up my internal one. I have also changed my broadband router but cannot see how either would cause my Xbox to turn off completely.

If any of you have come across this issue before please could you let me know and if you were able to solve it?

    Thanks

    :)

Controller unresponsive if Xbox is turned on via Kinect

As the title states: if I turn on my Xbox via "Xbox on" kinect command, it powers up just fine. When I turn on my controller, I receive a solid light, but the controller doesn't respond to anything. My only solution is to kinect "Xbox turn off" or physically
turn it off, then restart the console with the controller, or the xbox power button. Software/controller is all updated, and I can't figure out why this happens. I've grown accustomed to turning my Xbox on via kinect, and it's very frustrating having to restart
it everyone I turn it on!

  3. The A button registers but doesn't activate anything, help

I've got this exact same issue.

The only immediate solution I found was turning the console off via the front (which without kinect or a working a button is the only way) and then turning it back on using the controller.

Turning the console on by swiping the front and then connecting the controller is the only way I've found to consistently avoid this.

Did you find a permanent solution.

  4. Xbox One Not Turning On Via Controller or Kinect

My issue is similar, however I am able to turn on my Xbox with the controller. It just goes to the green boot screen, which suggests it shut completely off.

I just did a quick test, and put my Xbox on standby for a few minutes. I had one download going at the time, with 4 others queued up. When I turned my Xbox back on, it had not shut completely down, but my external HD seemed like it had stopped running. All
downloads had paused, and the Xbox started redownloading them after shuffling the installation order around a bit. I do NOT have my Xbox set to turn off the external when it shuts down, so downloads shouldn't stop when I put my Xbox in standby.

This is obviously disconcerting, as I'd like to have downloads continue when I go to work or elsewhere, without having to keep the Xbox One on the entire time.

    Controller won't sync, help!!

I think I have found the answer to your problem. I honestly thought it wouldn't work, but this did perfectly for me. Hopefully this will work for you and everyone who's having this problem.

    1. Plug in your controller to your Xbox One via cable.

    2. As the controller is turned on, hold the Xbox button and turn the controller off, not the console.

    3. Have your Kinect plugged in and turned on and face it to your controller.

    4. Turn on your controller and hold the controller sync button.

This should work for you as it worked for me. If not, try it this way with an added step:

    1. Plug in your controller to your Xbox One via cable.

    2. As the controller is turned on, hold the Xbox button and turn the controller off, not the console.

    3. Have your Kinect plugged in and turned on and face it to your controller.

    4. Press the sync button on the left-side of your Xbox One console.

    5. Turn on your controller and hold the controller sync button, facing the controller towards your system and Kinect.

    Cheaters

    Xbox listen.

    Turn off PNSFNEO's controller.

*Kinect listens and turns off the users controller*

    Turn off PNSFNEO's Xbox One.

*Kinect listens and shuts down the users Xbox One*

    Xbox stop listening.

Lmao. No hackers on Xbox One.

It's just the beta box having system issues.

    Don't Accept Mandatory Kinect!

I've been trying to find a reason why it can't be turned off. not much info but:-

Kinect can detect when the controller is passed to another person MS said, infra red I think. It's possible that even when the features of kinect are turned off it still has some link to the controller. maybe the controller actually syncs via kinect, and
needs to be plugged in for controller to work. even when the kinect features are turned off. It would explain a lot.

PS4 is $510 with Eye and Move, XB1 only $499 for same

They say the sensor for the controller is in the Kinect, not in the Xbox One.

    This could be your answer.

You can turn of the cam, the mic but need the Kinect to be on to let you use the controller.
