  1. Xbox One (Not the S or X) ARC/CEC Support

    Hi All,

    New to posting here.

Can someone please help in giving a definitive answer?

I have read numerous articles about the CEC/ARC support on the Xbox One.

Some stated that the Xbox One does support ARC and others stated you need the Kinect for certain commands.

So my Setup is as follows.

Xbox One (OS Built - 10.0.22000.4970)

    LG 49LH600V (WebOS 3.0)

    PDP Gaming Media Remote

The remote works absolutly fine except the volume controls and Mute.

The Xbox is connected to the TV via HDMI Cable - HDMI1 (ARC) port.

I went through the steps in setting up the TV in the Settings Menu of the Xbox, done manually and the tv is found and listed.

But whenever I try and use the volume control on the remote it sends no signal to the TV. It also does not switch On/Off the Xbox when switching the TV On/Off, and I have checked the settings. I have tried numerous things.

Switching off SIMPLINK on the TV. Let the Xbox find the TV automatically. Nothing seems to work.

The ideal idea is to use the Xbox as the Primary Media Device. - The TV becomes a bit sluggish after a while and becomes very frustrating. Also, the Xbox Store has more apps compared to the LG TV Store.

Any answers would be appreciated - Even if it is not what I am hoping for.

    Thanks,

    :)

Xbox One (Not the S or X) ARC/CEC Support

Hi, my name is Fernando and I am an independent consultant for Microsoft products.

The Xbox One doesn't support HDMI CEC.

All control of other devices by the Xbox One is done by the IR blaster, and there's no way to control the console except through a compatible controller, remote or Kinect.

Xbox One (Not the S or X) ARC/CEC Support

    Hi,

As far as I know the Xbox One also has a IR Receiver in front as the remote needs to be pointed at the console for it to work

Xbox One S has the IR blaster built into the front. But yes the original “VCR” Xbox One requires Kinect
