Xbox One not staying connected, or connecting at all, to the internet

Briefly: We have two consoles, but only one of them has connection problems.

My husband recently moved to Canada from the US, and brought his Xbox One S with him. I have an original Xbox One as well. He never had problems connecting to his network back in the US, but now his Xbox One S almost never connects to our wireless network
here, and if it does, it deletes the network the next time we boot it up. My own Xbox One has never had problems like this, and none of our other devices do, either. Even when we know the internet is working fine, the Xbox One S says it can't connect to the
internet.

We factory reset the console (without deleting any of the game files) to see if maybe it was a matter of the region having changed, but that didn't change anything. What could the solution be?

Why can't I play my X1 offline?

Yes, but you'd still have to put the info in to connect to the wireless router, it doesn't just connect on its own. The system has to be receiving an internet connection in order to do an update, let alone know it needs one. Sounds to me that OP had it connected to the internet, started an update, unplugged the console from the internet, but didn't actually stop the update.

I know this may sound like a simple question, but it's very important to figure out what's going on here; So, when you say "our wireless network", does the Xbox One S connect to the internet with no problem when you use an Ethernet cable? And, are you using
the same wireless router that you used when you where in the states? If so, then maybe there some kind of RF interference at your new location causing this issue. One of the first things you can try is changing the WiFi channel on your wireless router (check your
router's user guide on how to do this). I have found that using a smart phone app like "WiFi Analyzer" can help a lot in selecting the best WiFi channel for your area. Also, if your wireless router support it, it maybe worth trying the 5GHz radio configuration.
