Xbox one not showing anything on any hdmi port channel

Xbox one was showing fine earlier today, but after I turned it back on a few hours ago, there was no signal regardless of what I did to try and resolve the situation. (also more specifically, I have a Vizio television)

For example:

I've held down the Xbox power button to reboot the console - nothing

I've held the power button and the disc eject button at the same time after the console was turned off - nothing

I've switched the hdmi cable to another hdmi port - nothing

I've unplugged and replugged a couple things connecting to the Xbox like the cord for the power brick - nothing

I've turned off the power completely to the Xbox - nothing

So far, that's what I remember doing. If any of you have other possible solutions, please let me know.

FYI: According to my knowledge, the Xbox one is technically on whenever I turn it on - with the light on the power brick showing white and all.

Speaking of which, could this just be a problem with my hdmi cable for the Xbox one? Because my 360 shows up just fine when I turn it on.

Live Tv Searching For Channels stuck on 95%

Just plugged in my cable box adapter hdmi port to my xbox one. Says its searching for channels but gets stuck on 95 and wont finish, any suggestions?

Yes you can, the HDMI shows up like any other channel in the OneGuide...

With Kinect you would say "Xbox watch HDMI" just as you would watch any other channel (e.g. "Xbox watch BBC Two").

I do this with a Chromecast plugged i to the HDMI-In port.

 

Does no one have an answer? Perhaps something I haven't even tried yet? I guess I'll call support after today if no one replies to this thread.

 

I've had the same problem for a week now and it's ticking me off. I've tried everything you listed and I'm somewhere between chucking it out the window or calling support. It'd be nice if someone from Microsoft would answer this thread or maybe fix the software.

 

Try a different HDMI cable, a different TV, check the cable is in the HDMI port nearest to the power lead just on case you have been moving things around.

As stupid as it seems sometimes simply swapping the ends over on the cable works, the end that's in the TV goes into the xbox and vice versa.

The display reset can be a bit finicky at times, hold the power button just before the eject button.

See how things go and if you have no joy by all means post back or contact xbox support.

 

I tried my 360's hdmi cable as an alternative with my tv and the Xbox one - that didn't work. Different TV's a no-go either, as I don't have another proper one.

Anyway, after I called support on Tuesday, he pretty much told me some of the same things you did. He also spoke of/sent me an article about the usb method of updating the Xbox one offline but that didn't seem to work for me neither.

All and all, I'm getting convinced that this is some sort of hardware issue within the Xbox one, so I guess I'll have to create a repair order for it eventually.

 

As a last resort try a factory restore using a USB flash drive, you never know.

What you said about the 'factory reset' thing, that's what I meant by the "usb method of updating the Xbox one offline." Didn't work, regardless - followed the steps and everything.

Might try it again later but I'm pretty sure it'll be the same result like last time.

 

If you used the OSUDT files then they may not work, there is however another file specifically for the factory restore.

The OSUDT files won't work if your system is already up to date.

 

Hey i had the exact problem. Instead of turning it off when nothing shows up on the screen, I just left it on for a good hour and it eventually came up on the screen. I guess the xbox just had some kind of booting up issue amd it took a while.

 

Thank you so much, LoudWings! Left my Xbox on earlier this morning and the screen eventually came on like you similarly said! Although on my end, I had to do a factory reset and wipe my games and apps from the Xbox - no worries, though.
