    Xbox One not recognising external hard drive


    I have been using the same external hard drive on my Xbox one for years. Suddenly it no longer recognises it. I’ve tried power cycling. I’ve tried different USB ports. I’ve even done a console reset. Nothing works. Now I can’t play 80% of my games and have no internal storage space to download new ones, despite paying for game pass ultimate. Please advise.

    Xbox One will not let me play my disc games, only digital.

    It recognises the external hard drive and all my games are on there and when I unplug the hard drive and put a disc in. It still doesn't do anything.

    I am in the Preview Program, have the latest update, and have had no problems with my Xbox recognising the external hard drive.

    October update

    Seems that the October Update broke my external hard drive. My Xbox one doesn't recognise it now, though it recognises other external drives when I plug 'em in. I really don't feel like reinstalling approx. 700GB of games, DLC and updates.

    Has anyone else had this problem?

    Some sort of hot fix would be greatly appreciated Microsoft, if this is even fixable...
