Xbox one not reading hard drive as 3.0

My Xbox started messing up about a month ago, it wasn't reading my Seagate Hard Drive as USB 3.0. I reformatted my drive to NTFS on windows and plugged it into my Xbox and it said "Pictures, music & video" underneath the hard drive in settings>system>storage.
I'm trying to use this drive for Games & apps like I did before.

    :)

Xbox one not reading hard drive as 3.0

    Hi there,

just to be sure, you are 100% sure the hard drive supports USB 3.0?

Also be sure that the cable you are using is a cable that supports USB 3.0, I tried using a different cable once, which caused my external hdd not being recognized properly, changing the cable to one that does support USB 3.0 fixed it.

Sometimes it will also help trying a different USB port on the console and doing a power cycle via the steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

Xbox one not reading hard drive as 3.0

I have done basically everything, I'm 100% sure that the drive supports USB 3.0 because it was working perfectly up until last month. I could try to get a new cable because the USB-A end is bent. It didn't mess up the functionality on windows but i'm not
    sure.

Hard drive for Xbox 360 s

USB 3.0 hard drives will work perfectly fine on the Xbox 360's USB 2.0 ports.

Even over USB 2.0, the read speed of a hard drive connected to a 360 is still faster than the Xbox 360's DVD drive playing games from a disc,

Don't get confused between 3.0 and 3.1 either. The standard was changed a few years ago, but, suffice as to say, USB 3.0 is now called USB 3.1, but it's still all BC with the older standards. The hard drive connected to my old Xbox 360 is a modern USB 3.0/3.1 drive. It works fine.

    Just buy one.

Seagate external hard drive for Xbox one x

Is your Seagate drive a USB 3.0 drive. If it is a USB 1 or 2 then it will not be fast enough to work on the Xbox One. You would need to purchase a USB 3.0 external hard drive for it to work.

USB 3 hub expansion for devices

    Hello SandTandpole7943,

There are some USB 3.0 Hubs for the Xbox One. You can use any USB 3.0 Hub that works on a computer for that matter.

An Xbox branded USB 3.0 Hub is the dreamGEAR Xbox One 3.0 USB Hub (although is not an Xbox nor Microsoft product).

If you want an attached-to-the-console 3.0 Hub; you can try the Collective Minds 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure & 3 Front USB 3.0 Ports Media HUB - Xbox One that also lets you put an Internal Hard Drive inside of it.

Both can be bought on Amazon.
