So if I put in Halo none of my apps will load. If I spit out disk then my apps load. It takes like 5 minutes instead of 5 seconds on a good day to recognize my disk.My internal harddrive which is 500gb was 95 percent full and I am in the process of transferring
it all to a 5 TB external hard drive. My question is if my internal hard drive was so full would this cause a negative effect on anything else. My guess is no and that there is a problem with the disk drive. The good news is I have it under warranty with
gamestop till november so I can bring it back no questions asked if it continues. Thanks for any and all help , support , and input.

    :)

Xbox One Will Not Read Discs

The past few weeks my Xbox one console has begun to fail to read discs every once in a while. I looked this up online and some people said it is a problem with the mechanics of pulling the disc in, and that if I tilt my Xbox up then slide the disc in it
should work fine. I did this and it worked a few random times. Now though, it has gotten to the point where my Xbox will not read any discs at all, no matter what I do. I bought my Xbox about a year ago from someone on eBay and checked the warranty status
once this all started, but my coverage was ended in March of this year. I saw a few other things I can do to try and fix it, but if those do not work, is there any way I can send it in or extend the warranty so I will not have to pay 150$? Thanks for your
    help.

    Hi Wahck,

Sorry you're having issues reading discs. One thing to try is going to Settings then Disc & Blu Ray and uncheck Enable BD Live then clear Persistent Storage 3 times and then hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down. After
that, go ahead and turn the console back on (expect a longer boot time). Test your games / movies and see if they work.

If that does not resolve the issue, then yes try a factory reset (link below). You will need to reinstall all your games but as long as you're online your game saves, and dashboard settings should be fine. if that doesn't work, then your console likely needs
a repair. Please use the link below to start this repair process on your console.

My internal memory went from 98% to about 8% and seems to be working better. Not sure if this is a fluke or the internal memory had something to do with it?

That is entirely a possibility. I would also like to recommend the following steps.

    1. Go to Settings

    2. Select Disc & Blu Ray

    3. Uncheck Enable BD Live

    4. Select Persistent Storage and Clear 3 times

    5. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down.

Hopefully after all that you will encounter no further issues.

  7. It is still acting very wacky , games rarely load and same thing with apps. I am going to trade it in with my warranty at gamestop this weekend. Is there anyway to delete or reset the reaming info including my gamertag on the hard drive?

Yes there is. Just delete your profile from the system then do a factory reset on the console.

HELP ME PLEASE! XBOX ONE BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY NOT WORKING AT ALL?!?!?!!?!?!?

    Hi,

It's not the discs it's your console. If your console can not read DVD movies then it won't read Xbox 360 games either. DVD movie discs use the same type of discs that 360 games use (DVD-9).

The Xbox One has two lasers to read discs. One for Blu-rays - which Xbox One discs games are made of - and one for reading DVD's and Xbox 360 games.

Can't install red dead redemption 1

    Hi,

Do other BC Xbox 360 game discs work on your Xbox One? For the Xbox One to recognise the game and download it from Live it must:

    • Be able to read the disc. Check if the disc is dirty or damaged
    • Have a working Optical drive capable of reading Xbox 360 discs. Try other BC discs or test a DVD movie.

The Xbox One has two diodes for reading discs in the optical Blu-ray Drive. A red laser is used to read Xbox 360 and DVD movies and a blue laser to read Xbox One games and Blu-ray movies. If the diode for reading DVD's is faulty, BC Xbox 360 discs won't
    work.

Xbox One X only reads XB1 game dvds

    Hi,

The optical drive in the Xbox One is a Blu-ray drive. Xbox One discs are on Blu-ray disc, same as HD Blu-ray movies. Xbox 360 games came on DVD disc.

Oversimplifying my explanation a little, the Xbox One has separate lasers for reading DVD discs than it does for reading Xbox One blu-ray discs.

The laser that is used to read DVD's has failed. This isn't a software issue, it's a hardware one. Unfortunately you can't fix this yourself, you'll need your console repaired. Sorry.

    xbox one disk drive

    Hi,

it won't be a software problem. The reason is because the Xbox One's Blu-Ray drive actually has two laser diodes, one for reading Blu-Ray Xbox One discs and movies and another to read Xbox 360 and DVD movie discs.

Essentially the laser that reads BD discs has failed and it's not something you can repair yourself.

    Sorry about that.

    MW2 will not play

The Xbox series X will not read the MW2 disc, I have returned it and tried 3 separate copies of the MW2 disc, the console will play other games/discs and read dvds/blue rays as well. But will not read any MW2 disc I insert into the console. The disc will read on my Xbox one. I installed it there and network transferred all the data to the series X and upgraded all the data that was transferred but the console refuses to read the MW2 disc.
