Xbox one not performing screenshots?

i noticed how other people's xbox show how to take screenshots , or press x to record gameplay. My xbox does not do that. Even before the update, it never took screenshots. I did the March 2015. Update, but it still refuses to take screenshots. The screenshot,
and upload (press y for screenshot,) doesnt even show up at all. So i had a chat with a microsoft agent. He told me sent me some steps to try out. I did the steps, but it still doesnt work!! HELP?!

What troubleshooting steps were you provided If you have a Kinect sensor for your Xbox One console, have you tried the command "Xbox, take a screenshot"?

Give that command a shot and post back with your full Xbox One OS version number, which can be found by following these steps below:

• Press the Menu button on your Xbox One controller and select 'Settings'.
  
• In the Settings menu, select 'System'.
• In the System menu, select 'Console info'.
• Your the version number we need will be listed under 'OS version'.
  

Post back with the information requested so we can help you get this issue sorted!

 

I dont have a kinect for the xbox one.

My OS version is:

6.2.12521.0 (xb_rel_1503.150305-1449) fre

Thats the os version # hope this helps.

Hi Jon,

Please perform the detailed steps below.

1. Please go to Home > settings > disc and blue ray > persistent storage > clear persistent storage. (Please do this three times)

2.Home > settings > network > advance settings > alternate MC address > clear > restart

3. Please go to Settings>>Sign in, Security & Passkey>>and then select the option "Remove me from Xbox".

4.To download your profile once again, please click the "Avatar Icon">>>and then select the "Add New" option to re-download the profile.

5. Turn off console > unplug power supply from the console > wait for 2 minutes and plug everything back > Turn On the console.

6. Try to perform screen shots again.

Pop into your settings / preferences and make sure that 'Allow Broadcasts & DVR Uploads' is ticked.

 

That's usually the culprit for your problem. (No X & Y Button prompts showing)
