Xbox One not opening any apps

My Xbox has this problem, and I am wondering if I am alone in this. My Xbox One will not open any apps, it won't even open the settings app. I can fix this only by doing a hard reset. But I have to do a hard reset to fix this problem about every two days
and it get quite annoying. This problem continues to persist. Also, recently my NAT type has been drifting (going from strict to open). Hulu also cannot run a video, and neither can netflix. I have a xfinity comcast router/modem. Help please.

I believe I repro'd this, but only once. After playing Titanfall for a really long time, I saw this post. So I went to "Manage Apps" but that worked fine. Then I went to "My Games & Apps" which also loaded fine but when I trying to launch "Max: The Curse
of Brotherhood" it started to launch but then crashed back to Home. I didn't have to hard reset though. On the 2nd try Max launched just fine, and now I can switch back and forth between loading Titanfall and Max just fine. Both are downloaded games, I'm not
using discs.

I'm trying

1. Load Titanfall and let it get to the main menu
2. Press Nexus to go Home
3. Navigate to "My Games & Apps" and launch a 2nd game

and it works just fine now. So even though I had one repro. I can't repro again. Does anyone have a more deterministic repro?

just got off the phone w microsoft about trying to flip between killer instinct and titanfall (both digital) and it not always loading. it will go full screen to title screen then bounce back to dashboard. it will work after a try or two just wondering
if anyone else having this problem. i did hard reset once for another issue. anyone? bueller?

 

Im having the same problem and yet its persistant for me regardless of a hard reset it will work normally for about one for foray into the menus on the dashboard and thats it and after that if it has anything to do with the xbox1 UI itself it refuses to
work. It seems to work everywhere else though. 3-4 weeks with this problem and for a 500$ dollar all in one system this is absolutely unacceptable.

I'm having this issue just about every single day:

I turn on my Xbox and it can't open any apps. I can move the cursor around and press "A" on an app/game, or say "Xbox go to Netflix" (for example), and the console responds to the input... but the app doesn't launch. It doesn't take full screen, it doesn't
crash... it just sits there as if I never pressed "A" or gave the command.

What sucks is the only way to get it to work when this happens is to do a hard shutdown. Now, this wouldn't be a problem if it were once a month or even once a week, but it's almost every single day. Even days when I don't use it much, when I boot it up,
this problem occurs. I'm afraid that this is a sign that my console is essentially dying. I've only had it for about 6 months. This is very very disappointing. None of my friends on Xbox One are having this issue.

I would really really appreciate getting some official word from support. I've tried all the basic troubleshooting: properly shutting down all the way, plugging into a wall rather than a power strip (which Xbox support on twitter insisted would make a difference)
etc. etc. etc.... but none of this has worked. If someone can try to explain why this is happening, that would be very much appreciated.

 

I'm experiencing this exact same issue and for about the same length of time as you guys, roughly 3 weeks now. I've made a post of my own back on the 20th of November about this with no response at all. Out of curiosity how many of you have the Master
Chief Collection? It seems to have started around the time I got the game and I'm trying to narrow down the cause.

I am also having the same issue. and have done since day 1, I came onto the forums to check if others are affected. I have to hard reset 1 in 3 times of booting up the console? Since I have started using the TV tuner this has become really annoying. I initially
thought it was because I had to wait for the pins to load but even that makes no issues, I just get the error box where my pins and apps etc. are meant to be that says it might be a problem Xbox's end. Every time a hard reset fixes and allows me to use the
console again.

 

This is becoming a serious issue and happened this morning to me when I turned on the console. I have it set to instant on and since this controls my TV, if I'm not home and my wife or kid end up like this whenever they want to watch TV, it's pointless
to do it. MS needs to address this NOW! If it's a hardware issue then make a public statement saying so because it sounds pretty widespread.

 

I agree that this needs to be addressed as soon as possible.

I've contacted support in every way possible to report and troubleshoot the issue. No one official seems to be aware of it in the slightest, nor do any of them have any suggestions on what to do about it. Their only suggestion is to take advantage of the
warranty plan and get a new console altogether, which is pretty ridiculous, because it seems like a software bug that could be patched pretty easily. It would be beneficial to everyone involved, Microsoft included, if they would just patch this.

However, as I type this, I'm downloading the most recent console update, which must have been released today. So let's see if this issue continues... I'll report back soon.

 

ALSO, since a hard reset *temporarily* fixes the problem, switching to power saver mode will prevent the issue from happening when you boot up. Of course, that sacrifices a little bit of functionality... but for those of you who would just like to play
your games and not worry about this crap, power-saver mode may work for you.

 

Out of curiosity, what kind of internet connections do all affected have at home? I only have a 1.5Mbps down, 640Kbps up connection. The reason I ask, I'm wondering if a slow connection is causing a hindrance to something the console is trying to do. I
also noticed that my custom background, which was an achievement image, is now gone. I'm pretty sure this image was never fully placed on the console so it must've been always running from the servers and if my connection is slow it may interrupt all other
dashboard functionality until it updates the background again.

Just a theory.

 

I think I might be having a similar problem, kinect won't sign me in, I get the home screen and a spinning circle in the bit between the home screen and where your friends list is, the showcase bit.

I can click on an app and it'll start to load and then just sit and do nothing, a hard reboot is the only thing I can do, after which everything functions normally until the next time. It first did it about a week ago, since then it can happen two or three
times a day or not at all for a day or two.

Using instant on, not in the preview program. I'm on 80Mbs down, 20Mbs up, so I don't think slow connections are what's causing the problem.
