Xbox One not installing games, or downloading updates

This just started today, I tried to re-install Battlefield 4 (to get the free Naval Strike thing) and the game wouldn't install, it showed it was downloading but no percentage ever showed. Naval Strike got to 1 percent and sat there.

Some other uninstalled games I tried wouldn't install either, along with the new world of tanks patch getting stuck at 75 percent.

I tried customer support, and everything they told me to do didn't work (offline update, remove account, re-add account, factory reset etc.) Luckily i use an external so i didn't lose any of my games, and the cloud saved my game saves.

ANYWAY, i was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and knows of a fix, or knows if it will eventually work itself out.

And yes, everything else with Live works perfectly on the console. Multiplayer, messages, marketplace and all that. So I doubt it's my network *** up.

Is my Xbox Installing or downloading updates?

I put my Titanfall disk in the drive around 10mins ago and it said Titanfall needed an update (810mb). What I can't work out is if it's downloading an update or installing the game I am at 10% now. For a 16GB game it sure does take a while to install, I
remember having similar problems at launch with Forza 5 and Battlefield 4.

So the question I am really asking is can you tell if the Xbox One is installing or downloading updates? Because all my Xbox says is "Installing" on the disk tile and "Installing" in my games and apps.

Xbox One light constantly flashing on console after turning off

Pompano, yes, if you go into My Games and Apps, if there is an update in the process of downloading and installing, it will show up in the third menu, "Queue." This shows anything in need of update, or in the process of downloading/installing one.

Sorry to hear it. Are you able to delete the download and then power cycle your console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down to see if that fixes it?

Hi,

Xbox One game updates actually modify the main install files when they are updating, they don't get added to the game or downloaded then installed after they've been downloaded. The Xbox One does it all at once. So, if you cancel an update, your game would
now have missing data, it wouldn't work anymore.

I agree, there should be a warning.

Did you install from disk, or was this a digital download? Did you install an update at the same time as the initial game install? Did you install the episodes after the game?

I had troubles with this one originally. I installed from a disk, launched it, closed it out, then downloaded the updates, then downloaded the episodes. Installing from the disk and downloading the updates at the same time broke the install for me.

When you install games from disc, the Xbox will download the updates for the game as well. you could be experiencing slow internet speeds a good place to check and trouble shooting can be found here:

support.xbox.com/.../troubleshoot-slow-game-or-app-downloads-on-xbox-one . I have a strong internet connection games will download faster then when I install a game at my brothers house who is using a Verizon data card for internet, so download speeds still
mater when it comes to updating the game while it installing.
