  1. Xbox One not detecting Xbox 360 backwards compatible disks

Today I tried playing MW2 on my Xbox one and when I put in the mw2 360 CD, the game wouldn’t pop up on the Xbox homepage. I last played it 2 months ago and it was working at that time. I inserted the CD around 20 times and it wouldn’t get detected by Xbox one at all.

I tried other Xbox 360 backwards compatible games also like forza horizon 1, batman Arkham origins, gta 4, driver San Francisco, all of which I have previously played on my Xbox one but now when I instered them, they wouldn’t get detected, the CD would just go in, not spin up and no error code popped up like if nothing was in the CD tray at all.

I inserted a Xbox one disc and blu Ray disc and both worked fine, it was only the Xbox 360 backwards compatible discs that don’t get detected by my Xbox one. Never had this issue 2 months ago, the 360 CD just goes in the Xbox and I can’t hear it spin up and just dosent get recognised and no error pops up either.

I’ve tried hard resetting, clearing my local cache, changing energy mode, and even fully reset my Xbox last night but still the 360 backwards compatible games don’t get recognised. The discs don’t have scratches and all worked just 2 months ago. I’ve been playing Xbox for over 10+ years so I’ve tried all the basic fixes and never had such a issue. Does anyone know a fix since I can’t access half my library of games now. Kindly respond if you know any solution. All my software and firmware is up to date and since my Xbox one can read Xbox one games and blu Ray disks, I think this issue is more of a software issue rather than a CD drive issue.

    :)

The disks will say if they are for xbox one or the 360. Check the disk, then the backwards compatibility list.

Moving From 360 to One- How do I do this?

Hi, if you own any xbox 360 game that is backward compatible (full list here
    www.xbox.com/.../backward-compatibility
), then you just log into xbox live on the xbox one with the same account you use on the xbox 360, and your games if bought digitally will show in your ready to install section, ready for you to install. If you have
a game on disk, then just insert the disk and install the game. If you have games that are not backwards compatible, then they might become compatible in the future, as they are adding new back compat games each month. Some Xbox 360 games will never be compatible,
those games may have an xbox one version, which if you want to play them, then you will have to purchase them again.

I hope I have answered some or all the question, happy gaming!

I did it, the console has no issues with the drive and drive works for new games and movies but not for 360 backwards games, seems to be a software issue of some kind to me as only started happening yesterday and my warranty is also over so I cant get it repaired or looked at.

Xbox One not detecting Xbox 360 backwards compatible disks

I’ve tried 6 other Xbox 360 backwards compatible games discs on my Xbox one. All of them don’t get recognised now but they used too 2 months ago. I can’t even download the digital versions of the same game without paying for it again and other digital 360 games work, only the 360 disks aren’t being recognised
