    Xbox One not Connecting to External Devices


    I have an Xbox One, the standard wireless controller, an afterglow wireless headset and a Seagate external hard drive. I have been play Mass Effect: Andromeda the past few days without any problems, but today when I hop on to play my Xbox won't connect with
    any of my accessories listed above. I have tried pretty much everything I can think of to resolve this issue but nothing is seeming to work. I have tried the hard reset (holding the power button for 10 seconds), which actually worked for the controller and
    the headset, but not the hard drive. I have also tried switching USB ports which hasn't affected the headset in that it will work in each slot, but has made no change to the hard drive. I have adjusted the setting so that memory isn't stored when the Xbox
    is not on and I have tried it with the storage being kept with the Xbox off. I have as Seagate suggested run checks on the hard drive via their software on my computer , which assures me everything with the hard drive is working correctly. I, also, have taken
    the hard drive, headset and controllers to a friends house and everything works perfectly on his Xbox. One last note, when I turn off and turn on the Xbox it loses the connection with the headset and the wireless controller unless I do the hard restart. What
    am I missing? The Xbox is probably 2&1/2 years old and has been treated like a king. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

    Did you check the setting on the Xbox One that allows external devices to connect to it?

    I'm having this same issue with my external hard drive as of today. I've swapped USB ports, checked my drive, and done the haRd reset on the xbox. Nothing is working

    Hello Bret!

    Sorry to hear you are having issues with an accessory for the adaptive controller. Here are a few things to try:

    Connect a different device

    To confirm that the problem is with the external device and not the controller, connect a different device to your controller if one is available. If the button is responsive when you connect your device to
    the various ports on the controller, the problem may be with the original external device, not the controller.

    If the button is still unresponsive after connecting a different (working and compatible) external device to the controller, the controller may need to be replaced.

    XOne looses internet connection when external HD is connected

    Ok, tried with a different external HD. Same problem. The moment i connect it to the console it disconnects from the internet. Connection can't be restored until i unplug the external device and restart the system. It doesn't matter whether the hd is formated
    as xbox one storage device or ntfs media device. Result is the same. Has anybody else experienced this problem?
