Discus and support XBox One Not Connecting at Gigabit only at 10/100 in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have a COD:AW edition of the Xbox one. XBox One Not Connecting at Gigabit only at 10/100

I have a COD:AW edition of the Xbox one. It is normally connected to a Linksys WRT610N v.2 Router with a Cat6 (purchased not personally made) cable. It is only connecting to the Linksys WRT610N at 10/100 not Gigabit.

    I have a Motorola SURFBoard SB6141 Modem

    My normal setup is

XFinity Internet > Surfboard Modem > Linksys WRT610N Router > Xbox One (all wired connections, in the same room, about 10 feet apart)

I have cheked with different cables.

I have connected it to differet ports on the router.

I have checked the router settings through the firmare/192.168.1.1 web portal.

I have the latest firmware for my router.

I have connected my laptop/win7 tablet/Desktop/blu-ray plyer/smart tv/DVR to the same cable on the same port all connect at Gigabit(10/100/1000 or Blue on the router).

I have connected the XBox One directly to the Modem and it still only connects at 10/100.

So. I have narrowed it down to being the Xbox One, are there any settings I can try on the Xbox?

    :)

Supposedly has a Gigabit Ethernet Card?!?!

Let me just jump in here, Cat 6 is not required for a gigabit connection. I am Currently having a MAJOR issue with my XBox One, I have it connected to a Gigabit Modem with a Cat6 cable and I can't get a gigabit conection, I have "all your aformentioned"
ports open and have even tried DMZ.. A little background, I am an Network Administrator for Google, at a datacenter, I understand how all of this works... I am Jelous of our friend above who lives in a fiberhood, congrats bro, some day I too will live in
a fiberhood(still waiting on rainbow rabbit if you know what I mean). So care to tell me how to fix my "GIGABIT" issue? I'm able to connect my latop, PS4, and my DVR with the same cable I'm using to try to connect the X-One, the X-One is the only wone that
connects at 10/100 not Gigabit(1000).. taking suggestions. Especially since my X-One is a COD:AW edition and is practically new.

    Ethernet not Gigabit!?

Ok I've had my XBOX one for a few months now connected to my Gigabit network and am convince that Microsoft has falsely advertised the console as having a gigabit Ethernet port. Every device in connected to my 24port Netgear gigabit switch is connecting
at full gigabit speed. However the XBOX One does not. Now when I go into m y Netgear console and look at the connections for VLAN, and other connections this device does not show a gigabit connection no matter what port it is plugged into. How do I change
the settings for the XBOX One Ethernet port? Or like so many other owners am I going to be forced to sell it for a PS4? This kind of false advertising is what causes consumers like me to just give up on a brand!

Comcast Xfinity don't offer Gigabit connections (150mbps is their current fastest) so the benefit of connecting by Gigabit to your router is mute because it can't use the gigabit speeds once it leaves your modem.

Gigabit is good for throwing files around your internal network or if you get the Google Fiber link.

The Xbox One will vary its speed based on what it is doing at the time. In "sleep" it will drop to 10, when it powers on it will go up to 100 and during downloads should go up to 1000. Try downloading a game/DLC etc and see if your router light changes colour
    to confirm the gigabit connection.

So. My current download of "Pinball Arcade" 3.83GB is still at 10/100 speed, I have the 150MB/s internet package from Xfinity. So... If its activity dependant why does COD: AW and COD: Ghosts lag so often? I have also tried streaming media (full length
DVD Movies) from a network attached PC and the PC is still at gigabit, the Xbox One is still at 10/100

You mean MOOT and not MUTE. But seriously, you don't know if its MUTE/MOOT whatever... I love when people post stuff like this (sarcasm). I know the post is a year old but when people respond with "WHY DO YOU NEED TO DO THAT?!" or "YOU DON'T HAVE 1000MB
ON COMCAST SO YOU DON'T NEED 1000MB FOR YOUR CONNECTION!!!" This is not constructive and you don't address his problem. You don't know why RDunham wants or needs 1000mb! Point is, he doesn't have 1000mb when he clearly should have 1000mb. Rdunham could
be doing a HUNDRED other things inside his home network with his XB1 where 1000mb might be incredibly desirable!

And NO the network adapter does not automagically change its connection to 10 in sleep mode. Don't give me any made up theory that 10 uses less power vs 100mb. This is not true. IEEE standards are the same for physical layer ethernet regarding voltage.
That is to say there is no reason why the Xbox One would ever need to change it's connection state to save power. It all uses ± 2.5V (over twisted pair) and is the same for 10, 100, or 1000.
There are thousands of articles on this but this sums it up the best: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet_physical_layer NOW, you might see your Xbox One reconnect to the switch/router
when it changes power states. It may initially show a different LED on the port as it is re-negotiating its connection. This will take longer if you have a dodgy cable, an old cat 5 cable (use 5e, 6 or 6e) or have some sort of insane long home-made cable
longer than 100 meters (328 ft).

I am not discussing the speed the Xbox is "working" while in sleep mode. I have no idea how it slows down its rate of processing information coming through the connection, but if it does this is done INSIDE the Xbox. But what you are saying is TOTALLY
different and wrong. If its a gigabit port as advertised, it could be prevented from negotiating to 1000mb by Microsoft for some reason.

Xbox one forza 5 digital download crashed to home!

Do you guys have the Xbox One connected with a wire? Specifically, to a 10/100 non-gigabit switch or router?

If so, try uninstall and reinstall using a *wireless* connection. Yes, I know that sounds strange, but try it!

As far as the disc installs, I think it'll still get content over the network and there might be something getting corrupted. Just a guess.
