Xbox one not able to run anything

I switched on my xbox after a long time, a successful software upgrade happened. After that I am not able to use few keys from my wired controller. Down movement of left stick not working, on selecting "A" button you can observe a blink but selection is
not happening, pressing down button on directional pad the selection moved down but immediately comes back. Tried connecting a USB keyboard then also down button not working, similar to directional button behavior.

did you unplug the wired controller when you tried the mouse and keyboard?

sometimes one of my wired controllers misbehaves like that and I have to unplug it before I can use my other controller.

I worked out that it was because of damage to the wire causing it to give incorrect inputs to the Xbox and a replacement USB lead was all I needed to fix the problem.

I could move to settings, but not able to select All settings because as I explained before down movement is not working. Selection moves to Settings but wont stays there, immediately moves back to App & system notifications

I tried with USB key but not able to got to settings and reset console. Checked controller with a test app, left key down movement is not working all other keys are working.

Hey they issue could be with the remote its self. if you have a keyboard for a pc you can see if this is to do with the xbox by plugging they keyboard into one of the usb slots and using the arrow keys to navigate, windows as the home button and enter
as the a button. esc is your back key. this will help to get to your device settings once there look for your controller and then see if you can make it vibrate three times if that works open a game and test each button if it still doesnt work try restarting
the controller or resyncing it to the xbox if that still doesnt work the controller could be damaged. By shaking the controller gently you can hear if there are loose parts. Another way to test if the controller is damaged is to use either a desktop pc or
another xbox to use the controller. on a desktop pc plug a micro usb cable into your controller and the other end into a usb slot on a pc/laptop/notebook open a installed game or download a free one of the store and test the malfunctioning buttons if they
dont work then the remote is unfunctional.
