Xbox one noise

Hello. I have my xbox one for about a week and until now I didn't notice anything weird until I heard it today being loud. Then I searched on the internet and it seems that the console is supposed to be silent, while mine makes a humming and static noise,
even when idle. Playing games makes the noise becoming even louder. It is not unbearable but definitely noticeable. Is this how it is supposed to be? Thanks!

Ok well now it makes noise and you can hear it but its very minimal. Do other people's xbox one make noise? Please reply

Honestly, I would not worry about it that much unless it makes really loud noise.

Try and do a hard reboot to your console and see if it fixes the problem.

to do so follow this steps.

Hold down the power button on console for 10 seconds.

unplug the power code from back of the xbox and power outlet.

Wait about five minutes and plug back in everything.

wait for the light on brick to turn orange, and turn on the console.

If that does not work and your console starts making even loud noise, you can sand in your console for repair.

Same thing started happening to me yesterday. It's kind of a high pitch constant humming noise. That and live TV that goes from my DirecTV box to the Xbox to the TV randomly freezes for about 5 seconds and then continues. The only difference is that I've
had my Xbox one since day one.

just to be sure, is the power supply connected directly to a wall socket/outlet or via a power strip or surge protector?

Using a surge connector or powerstrip can sometimes cause louder noise or performance issues, therefor it is officially advised to directly connect to a wall socket when possible

In addition to the steps x Mr Jank has suggested, make sure your vents aren't blocked by anything. Sometimes the fan can be overworked if too much heat builds up.

 

Thanks all for suggestions. I tried doing the hard reboot thing but it seems the same. I also plugged it directly to the wall socket but again seems pretty much the same. Maybe it is my idea or something. It definitely is more quiet than my old 360 but not
"silent" that most people say. I can live with it if it doesn't get worse, but is there any chance that my system might fail or something? If it is just "cosmetic" issue then no problem.
