Xbox One - No video output and wont turn off

    Hi All,

Tried my XBox last night to find that there was no signal to my TV (was working perfectly well on Sunday). Checked all the obvious things, HDMI is connected to the output, tried a different HDMI lead in all 3 HDMI connections on the TV. Power cycled the
Xbox by holding the power button in for 10 seconds. BTW this is the only way I can power down the XBox as a single press makes the shutdown beep but does nothing else.

Controllers will not connect, I assume as the unit has not fully powered up? Tried to reset in to low res mode by holding the power button to shut down, removing the power lead from the back of the XBox, waiting a few minutes, then powering back up by pressing
the eject button and power button simultaneously. I get the first beep, the unit powers on after 5-10 seconds but I do not get the second beep that the support page mentions.

If there is anything anyone else can suggest I would greatly appreciate it.

    :)

XBOX One - No video output

I have had my XBONE for years. It hasn't been dropped, moved, spilled on, no settings were changed. I use it most of the day for streaming TV and movies and hadn't had any problems until yesterday. After my lunch break I turned it on an noticed the resolution
looked wrong. A few minutes later I started seeing green pixels, it got worse and then the screen went blank. I tried to reset the XB but I still see a blank screen. The light is on, I can hear it running. Any ideas what's wrong?

Hi, did you just reset it or did you try a factory reset?

Read this carefully before you try a factory reset as you want to make sure you do not delete everything. Reset Xbox One Console to Factory Defaults

    Hi M3tal Daz3,

The issue isnt that it wont turn on. I have no video output and the XBox will not power
off with a single press of the power button.

    Thanks for the comment though

  8. Xbox One - No video output and wont turn off

    Hi there UK Dragun0v,

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with the Xbox One - No video output.

    If you've tried the
    offline console reset
    :

    1. Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.
    2. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
    3. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
    4. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the
EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the
      Xbox button on the console.
    5. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
    6. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the
BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
    7. Select Reset this Xbox, Keep Games and Apps.

If this solution does not resolved the problem, your console may need to be serviced. Go to
Device Support to submit a repair request:

    1. After you've signed in with your Microsoft account, select Problem with a device.
    2. Under For which device? select your Xbox One console or register it.
    3. Select Display Issue and select Next.
    4. On the next page, explain the issue in the Describe your problem field.
    5. Beside Based on the problem described, we need to create a service order to replace your device, click
      Next.
    6. Follow the steps to complete your service order.
    Or
    contact Customer Support
    for more assistance.

I had the same issue in March, which was obviously a defect in the HDMI output. After sending the XBox One X in for repair it came back 4 weeks later working again.

Last Saturday the same happened again... :-(

Seems to be a real poor quality of the HDMI Port or internal connection...

    Hiya UK,

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with the Xbox One - No video output.

When the console is plugged in and turned off (Tv on) Hold down the Eject
button and power button on the console till console turns on.

This will bring it into a "Low Resolution Mode" also make sure to test other HDMI cables, TV's, and TV channels.

(Make sure it's on the right HDMI channel)

If the screen still stays black after preforming the" L/R/M", then attempt the steps below.

(or everything)
[Just make sure you know your passwords and emails for your account]

    Hope this helps.

Xbox One - No video output and wont turn off

    Hi Willis,

Sorry no luck what so ever. I have exhausted every avenue on this, even opening up the console to check connections inside.

I think its something to do with the HDMI port itself.

None of the resets work, i even downloaded the USB console reset and forced the console to read the USB and reset that way.

The tv still receives no input from the console.

Fortunately i also have a Xbox S which i play more and this one was just a glorified Blueray and catch up TV player.

I am keeping an eye out of facebook / ebay etc for someone selling a unit off cheap because the disc drive does not work and ill just swap over my disc and hard drive in to the unit.

Sorry my post wasn't any more help to either of us.
