XBOX One no sound in games only

Discus and support XBOX One no sound in games only in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have my XBOX one wired to my TV with an optical cable.     XBOX One no sound in games only


    I have my XBOX one wired to my TV with an optical cable. I then have my BOSE Lifestyle connected to the TV, and my DIRECTV Box connected to my XBOX. When I watch TV one my XBOX, the sound is fine. When I go to Home on my XBOX, I can here the clicking
    as a select various different Tiles, however, when I play a game, there is no sound at all coming from the game. What is going on?

    My Digital Audio Settings are set

    • HDMI Audio: Stereo uncompressed
    • Optical Audio: Stereo uncompressed
    What do I have to do to get sound form my games?

    only sound, no visual

    It could well be a fault with the console but try this please. Remove any disc from the drive and power the console off. Power the console on using the guide button on your controller, as the console is starting up press and hold down Y and the right trigger
    until the console restarts. That will reset the display settings on the console.

    Are you able to connect your console to a different TV

    1. with the same cables you normally use?

    2. different cables maybe borrowed by a friend?

    So you can check, if the issue is referring to the cables or the TV.

    Sound issue - game sound only

    I'm having this issue every day. Only fix is a hard restart. System UI sounds work fine. Getting real annoying to randomly start a game to no audio.

    I haven't experienced it since doing the console reset (don't recall where I found the option - under admin settings or somewhere)
    Oddly I just had it happen again but it resolved when I closed the game (home, options, quit) and restarted the game.

    K - fixed it. Had to reset the console (reset all but kept games and apps) and it resolved. Before I tried the games I also took the time to open up all the recommended ports in my router.
