Xbox One no longer working without kinect

Recently, my xbox one will not get past the inital green Xbox One screen without the kinect turning on. At first the kinect was taking forever to turn on, so I eventually unplugged the system and plugged it back in with the kinect first. After about 5 minutes
the kinect activated, and I got past the green screen and to the dashboard. Voice commands worked perfectly and everything. When I turned my xbox back on I had the same problem. The kinect would not turn on, stuck at green screen etc. I unplugged everything
again and waited another 5 minutes for it to turn on. Once it turned on, I decided to turn the kinect off hoping it would solve the problem. Nope. I CANNOT get past the green screen anymore. What happened to the One being able to work without the kinect? It
sure used to, but now the system is dependent on the kinect to work. The problem with this is that I turned the kinect off. I thought unplugging it and plugging it back in, AGAIN, would reset it and automatically turn it on, but nope. You have to turn it on
in settings. But I can't get to settings because my xbox won't get past the green screen until the kinect activates. This wasn't a problem until yesterday, and now I have absolutely no way to use my xbox. It's practically dead. IS there anyway to reset the
kinect? I've already held the power button on the console until it turned off, and I even did it while hitting the eject button at the same time. Nothing works. I cannot use my Xbox one at all, and I really need to get this fixed. I don't want to have to send
it in to microsoft, but I'm starting to think that's my only option.

Updated console - broke everything

Kinect stopped working. The Kinect is not even powering on.

Followed ALL troubleshooting tips. Everything's groovy except there's no power.

Media remote no longer controls non Xbox functions. No TV or cable control.

The console no longer talks to my TV or cable box. They no longer power on and off with the console.

Followed ALL troubleshooting tips. All information and codes exactly as they were previous to the update.

I've read many posts exactly like this one. All with the same response from an Xbox rep. I have had my Xbox since day one without a single hiccup, I have a hard time believing that all my accessories and connections stopped working at the same time.

Not sure where to go from here.

 

Anyone fear that next gen consoles won't be able to do 1080p HD graphics.

[/quote] You can get 360 with out Kinect. its xbox one where Kinect is integrated and no longer just a peripheral

 

Im having exact same problem! I have traded my kinect in as i hate it and with all these new updates focused on kinect my xbox plays up! Im still on green screen! Apparently i have to send it off and wait 7-10 weeks for a new one which is a load of *** when
the xbox one has warranty and also this is my 2nd console for xbox one!

 

I have experienced the same exact problem as the OP. My Xbox One would be stuck on the green screen. I noticed this happened when the kinect itself would not turn on. So I would do a hard reset by holding down the power button for about 30 seconds, then
unplugging the console (sometimes the kinect), plugging the console back in. Most of the time the kinect would power up and xbox would get beyond green screen. I did the same thing OP did figuring skipping through kinect process altogether would solve it.
On my profile I turned off kinect. Turned off console normally with controller. I was able to start up xbox and sign into my son's profile, but when I signed into my own console it froze. Now I cannot get passed green screen and kinect is turned off in settings.

So it seems I cannot startup xbox without kinect powering up.

 

Guys, have you all tried to do the
offline system update ?
