Xbox One no longer recognizing external Seagate hard drive

    Xbox One no longer recognizing external Seagate hard drive


    So my xbox one updated yesterday and since then my external seagate hard drive is no longer connecting to my xbox. No error message or anything, just shows what is downloaded on the internal hard drive. I have tried every trick involving full console restarts,
    unplugging and plugging everything back in, changing around which usb-3 port i'm using and trying a different usb-3 cable. Nothing is working. The blue light on the seagate is blinking which means that it's functioning normally, just the xbox isn't recognizing
    it. I haven't touched or done anything to the hard drive, cables, or xbox prior to yesterday. The problem started after the update. Anybody else having this issue?

    Yep, same thing here. I did everything they recommend online, tried for several days to make it work, even reset console and formatted external drive to no avail.

    I emailed the external drive company about this and they said the Microsoft XBOX update affected many of their

    external drives worldwide in the same way and that I have to wait for some kind of new gadget that will make it work again.

    Oh, and the really cool integrated enclosure that I bought with it is going to have to go bye-bye too!

    I was provided a link to an xbox google form that asked some specific console information, and now I am just waiting.

    Don't know for how long (it's been 2 weeks now since I filled out the form) or who I am getting this magic wand from,

    but I do hope it gets here sooner than later. I lost 5 game installs that I transferred to this drive just before the updates and my xbox live account is broken because of this fiasco. It's going to take weeks to re-download all these games thanks to my
    inferior internet speed!

    Microsoft - thanks so much for the amazing product update. I really have nothing better to do with my time... or money.

    a reformate will fix it but it is only for the now it will break again.
