Xbox One no longer prompts TV to change input

Hey guys,

The first time I turned on my Xbox One my tv asked if I wanted to switch to that HDMI input. This is what it did every time I turned my 360 on as well. However, after that first time I turned it on, it has never prompted me to do so again. Is this an xbox
setting or did the Xbox One change a setting on my LG tv? It is just easier/quicker to hit "okay" instead of going through the inputs and finding the HDMI input the Xbox One is on every time I power on. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Soundbar always changes input whenever Xbox One is turned on

Whenever I turn my Xbox One on, the input on the my Yamaha Soundbar switches to the TV input (which is an optical input), and has no relationship to the Xbox One. The Xbox One is connected to an HDMI input. When I turn it off, it is on the HDMI input for
the console. However, when I go back to turn it on, the input switches to TV, as opposed the HDMI input assigned to the Xbox One.

Is there a command I have to change in the settings so that the input is the correct one on my soundbar when the system is turned on?

if you connect it via HDMI, the two devices(console and tv) sync..the xbox knows when you change the input to another source and acts if you are no longer on it.

Your television should stay on the input settings you last used unless you have cable or satellite overriding this feature.

You can check the TV Settings in your Xbox Settings to toggle those ON or OFF for TV controls like muting, ON/OFF, and Kinect commands.

However, this seems to be more of an issue with the TV itself. I would suggest contacting LG for further assistance if the steps above aren't helpful.

The Xbox One doesn't use HDMI-CEC. Everything simply uses infrared commands. So it's not going to automatically switch inputs to the right one. I suppose it could switch an input if the TV is already on and the code to power on the TV changes the input
if the TV is already on.

Not sure I explained it clearly enough. My TV has 3 HDMI inputs, all of which can be configured for PC, Game Mode, TV etc etc. The Game Mode makes the XBOX input fill the screen and overall looks better than say in TV mode. So if the input from the XBOX
One is set to Game Mode, then I switched the XBOX One to throughput the TV signal, then I would be watching the preset HDMI in Game Mode even though I was watching a TV/Tivo channel, if that makes sense.

So to recap

My TV has one HDMI port set to TV input and another one set to Game Mode input, and I simply change the input depending on wether it is a game I want to play or a TV channel to watch.

But if one HDMI input is being used by both XBOX One and a TV signal input, then the TV's HDMI port setting will only default to the one I set it to in the first place

So it is the TV that determines what display I will get regardless of what signal the XBOX One sends.

I'm just going to change inputs with my Xbox One, I cba with the tv functionality, it still has the ugly TV Box UI when you change channel, it doesn't eradicate that.
